What a fantastic place !! Literally on top of a mountain with views that cannot adequately be described, beautiful hiking trails through the woods, a mountain waterfall within walking distance of your cabin and rare wild flowers growing on the mountain side. Not to be left out the delicious food and the friendly and helpful staff.

If you miss visiting Fire Mountain, you will miss a little piece of Heaven on earth.!!

Loved every thing about Fire Mountain! When was the last time you really completely relaxed? Here is your place! The staff were so kind and devoted in giving the guests an experience that is one of a kind. Everyone should make it a priority to visit this beautiful, peaceful and magical place. When you leave, you can't wait to go back!

We spent two nights at the Fire Mountain Inn and came home completely renewed. Beginning with Matthew's warm welcome through two beautiful sunsets, two great breakfasts, some wonderful meals in Highlands and a hike to a couple of waterfalls, the short "time out" was just what we needed. The hospitality was warm and helpful, but not intrusive. We will return.

We stayed in the inn; and, absolutely loved our time there. It was quiet, secluded, relaxing, clean and comfortable. The views were great, the food delicious and the staff very friendly and accomodating. We look forward to spending more time there in the future!

It started with my wife asking for a "quiet getaway" to celebrate her birthday. Fire Mountain Inn delivered. The location. The accommodations. The amenities. The staff. Everything blends wonderfully. For nature lovers, art lovers, antiquers and foodies, the entire Highlands area is nirvana. So much to see and do. Which we did. But we also chilled at our cabin, sipping vino fireside, reading, and actually talking with each other for hours. Maybe that's what I liked best about Fire Mountain. Our stay reminded me that I married a wonderful woman.

We started going to Fire Mt. over a year ago and it has become the place that we go back to more than any other. This time we stayed in the Cullasaja Cabin and it was really perfect! The room was spacious and had everything we needed. It was so quiet and peaceful at night and we slept wonderfully.

Hiram and Mathew are always so wonderful and helpful with hikes to go on and things to do. And the breakfast is always yummy! Whenever my husband and I want to go away to truly relax, this is the place we always come back to. We've also taken family there and they all love it!

I wanted to surprise my wife with a romantic getaway as a Christmas present. I researched places around Highlands, NC and found this places listed on Tripadvisor and other websites. It was an amazing weekend. I was a little worried that we would be bored because of the lack of tv, internet, or radio, but it was really refreshing. It was really nice to just lay around in front of the fire reading a book. It was also great to spend time with my wife away from the many distractions of our busy life. Despite the rainy weather we explored Highlands and ate at some great restaurants. We also found some really awesome waterfalls. Fire Mountain pays attention to the every detail and the cabin was amazingly clean and comfortable. We could not have asked for a better weekend.
