“Walk under the waterfall!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

It is an easy walk to the falls (involves steps) and there is also a wheel chair accessible over look from the parking lot. It was very neat to walk behind the falls and you will get a nice cool mist from the falls. It was a fun mini adventure that only takes about 10 minutes.

“wonderfull park easy walk”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2014

when we saw these falls, we had to stop, you can see the falls from an overlook or you can take the easy walk down and BEHIND the falls. How cool was that! I have a heart and lung condition and I made it down and back and there are a few places to rest. The latrine/bathrooms could really use some attention, Rangers. there was no hand sanitizer or any water to wash your hands with. We had sanitizer in the car and used bottled water. The back of the toilet looked like it had never been cleaned and there were no hooks for coats/purses, etc. An air freshener would also be nice. There was good parking and all along the river are small falls and places to pull off on the way to Highlands. A great drive, but know that most of the road is under 40 MPH. So leave plenty of time to drive.

My wife and I enjoyed hiking down to this waterfall and having the ability to walk underneath it as well. Very nice waterfall.

“Easy hike with beautiful scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 22, 2014

Dry Falls is a beautiful location with a short and easy hike. The majority of the walkways are paved with guard rails. There is also an observation deck for those who do not want to walk under the falls, but be able to see the whole of the surroundings. Dry Falls is certainly worth visiting.

“Never gets old”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

Been traveling to the highlands franklin nc area since I was 2 years old. That's 56 years and always stop to see these magnificent falls. I guess I think they'll change at one point!!! They have updated the access areas down to the falls and made an observation walkway for people who feel the decent to the falls is to treacherous . Very well done. If you r ever in this area in he winter, the icicles display these falls produce are amazing and now you can see them from above but be careful walking behind them anytime.
