“Southern Hospitality at its Best!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

My wife and I recently spent a few nights at The Wilson House B&B while shopping for furniture in High Point. I have to say Ron and his family provided a real first-class experience! They were incredibly hospitable and went out of their way to make us feel right at home. They even asked us for our breakfast preferences and cooked up a wonderful feast every morning.

The house itself is amazing too, as it has been in Ron's family for generations. They have done a great job keeping its original features while adding modern conveniences guests would expect. Our room was a generous size with a super comfortable king bed, TV, sitting area with table and private bath. We tend to picky about cleanliness and this place certainly exceeded our expectations.

The location is downtown and within walking distance to the furniture shops on Main St. Ron is more than happy to give advice about the local area and was definitely helpful pointing out good furniture shops and restaurants. You cannot beat the value here too as the price was substantially less than we have paid at other B&B's. If you are looking for friendly service and high quality accomodations in High Point, look no further than The Wilson House!

Built in 1915, this commodious early Colonial Revival house is a rare surviving example of grand residences that stood at the edge of the central business and industrial district early in the twentieth century. An oversized dormer bearing a Palladian window dominates the hipped roof of the two-story frame house. Other notable details include a modillion cornice, large double-hung windows, Ionic porch supports and handsome granite foundation. Interior appointments include eleven-foot-tall ceilings, quarter-sawn oak wainscoting, oak mantels and pocket doors and a stained-glass window. ... more   less
