I recently stayed over night during the ice storm in the Biltmore. It was very clean, comfortable and had everything that I needed for a comfortable nights rest.
I must say the staff, from the front desk, down to the housekeeping staff, were the friendliest and accomidating staff, that I have ever ran across in my travels in the U.S. I was made to feel at home, not that I was just another customer. That is a high quality in hotel staff and they have it there at the Biltmore Suites Hotel !
I must say that even being an older hotel, it was still nice and spacious. The Bath & Body works were fabulous to say the least. It was nice to run a huge jacuzzi bath full of hot bubble bath and lay back and be able to watch tv, while I soaked and while it rained and froze outside. It was so warm and soothing ! I couldn't tell that there was a storm outside.
The beds and feather pillows, I must say are a plus. The bed was so soft and the pillows surrounded my head when I layed down to watch TV, after my soak. The plush warm blankets that they provide on the beds, were so warm, without being heavy. The next morning I went down to find fresh brewed coffee, with all kinds of flavored creamers, all kinds of danish, bagels, blueberry and banana nut muffins, sausage biscuits, and a waffle machine (yes, you can make a freshly made waffel, or have it made for you by Thomas). They had all kinds of cereal for kids and adults alike. They even had health foods for those who want to watch their weights and calories. I can't name all that they offered, but it was more than I could choose from. They even offer flavored hot teas, juices and milk. While I ate, I was able to sit and relax and watch the news, stock reports and read the newspaper that they provide to each quest (delivered right to my door) ! I didn't have to leave out to find out what was going on around me, they brought it straight to me.
Yes, they offer an evening drink (reception), but I don't drink so I didn't take advantage of that, so I can't comment on that. They do have a fire place in the lobby, with sofa's, sitting chairs and a TV to watch if you get bored from sitting in your room. Even the staff will chat with you, when they are not busy. I just can't get over how friendly and helpful they were.
They do offer a snack basket in the rooms with all kinds of snacks and also offer a mini-bar in the room full of soda's and water. They also said they would clear out the mini-bar if I wanted to use it for things that I brought in myself. So yes, their guest CAN use the mini-bars, for personal use.
They also have hair dryers in the bathrooms, lucious towels, stereo's, etc in the rooms for my use.
I will make sure I visit this hotel again in the future and bring my kids along as well.
FYI- They have high speed internet now in all the rooms, I was told by the front desk staff (Robin), so I was able to work from my room.
Over all I recommend a stay at the Biltmore. For the price and all that they offer, it was worth just being made to feel special and a part of their family while I was there.
