“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2013

This inn is well worth the trip to Hendersonville! The accommodations could not have been better and the level of service is stellar! The breakfast served is above and beyond what you would usually expect from a B & B. There are also spa services available right on the premises and they even have a daily wine tasting. I would never stay anywhere else when in town.

I just returned from the Girls Weekend. It was beyond wonderful. Diane and Darla were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make sure that we felt at home. It is southern hospitality at it's best where you feel like family. The beds are VERY comfortable and I always looked forward to breakfast. The home fries, grits, fruit, cinnamon raisin french toast with fruit, and wheat toast with jam/jelly were my favorite....okay maybe I should've just said everything! Breakfast time was perfect for me...not too early...not too late for vacationing. I loved that snacks and drinks were available anytime at no extra cost and the evening social hour was really a neat experience. I have NO complaints at all. I can't wait to take my husband back. FYI - we walked to West First Wood Fire to eat lunch one day...it was soooo good. I had the Max Club with chicken & procuitto with pasta salad. Then we drove to Asheville to eat at Curate (you need to make reservations at least a week before you arrive for here), it is a tapas restaurant. My favorite was the lamb skewers and bread with tomatos and cheese. We did not like the chicken fritters. An inexpensive place to eat that is to die for is The White Duck Taco in Asheville. I got the Thai peanut chicken taco with tropical salad. It was different and sooooo good. It doesn't look like much but don't let that fool you.
Beware though, most shops in Hendersonville closes at 5:00pm on weekends! But that's just a tip...has nothing to do with Waverly.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Mountain Laurel. It is perfect for 3 people and has a sitting room.

The rooms are well appointed, clean, and very comfortable. The Owners are delightful and we enjoy the evening wine and cheese gathering. Its within walking distance of downtown and most of the dining options. Breakfast at the Inn is always a treat, they always have the basics and then something special. This weekend in particular we enjoyed multigrain pancakes with fresh blueberries.

We had a fantastic time at the Waverly Inn. The service was great, breakfast was good, rooms were cozy. Restaurants are walking distance and were all great, Umi and Mezzaluna to be exact. Also, got a couples message that was very relaxing. Overall awesome time and would stay again.

Just returned from a "girlfriend" weekend and had a wonderful stay. The Inn was beautiful and our room clean. The room we had reserved was a "special" room (dog friendly), which wasn't necessarily what we wanted but the other available rooms were either not what we wanted (located on 3rd floor which in hind sight we should have taken) or price wasn't what we wanted. The owner very kindly upgraded us when we arrived to a main floor room (without an upgraded cost) and we were excited. It was a lovely room, very spacious. However, if you are use to total darkness and deafening quietness (as I am in the country), you might want to get a room near the back. The food was more than delicious and having such a large choice was almost too much for this food-a-holic to handle. I would recommend this Inn but as others said, being so close to town is a curse and blessing. Would also suggest to the owner to be more cautious of the language, not everyone enjoys, nor uses, the "salty" words. All in all, a wonderful stay, owner very friendly and helpful and would stay again (upstairs and in the back).

Darla and John took absolutly amazing care of us. There wasn't too much you could ask for. The Waverly Inn attracts amazing people. Our favorite part was the cocktail hour which turned into great conversation in a gorgeous setting on the front porch of the beautiful historic home. Definately can't forget to mention the freshly baked cookies everyday and the fresh cakes. They truly know how to entertain.

Our stay was lovely, for these reasons:

- Round the clock tea, coffee, snacks
- afternoon cake
- great breakfast, with options for varying diets
- pleasant and helpful staff
- very welcoming
- cocktail hour at 5pm, a great way to mingle
- lovely bath with bath oils
- cute, tiny, non shedding dog with no bark

Will definitely come back...a great stay!
