We live in Hendersonville, but had been away for several months. We knew that the Mills River Restaurant group planned to open a new place in the old Kelsey's Restaurant. We were delighted that friends suggested it for dinner on our return. The name is the same, but the food is much improved, as are many other things. The dining room is more upscale than Mills River, so they are trying to be as good, but not as casual. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The service was excellent - A++ to Josh. He was attentive and informative with spot-on recommendations. In addition, a young lady came by the table several times to be sure that things were going well.
At the end of the evening, Nick, the owner, came by to ask how things were and for suggestions.
We agree with many reviewers that the menu is too extensive and told him so. He explained that they are in the process of revamping (using statistics of what has been ordered the most), and it will be cut back. Good news for those of us who like the Greek food (What difference does it make what it is called? - you know what Spinach pie is) - those are some of the most popular dishes.. My favorite is the Moussaka.
Sure there are some things there are not yet right, but it is a new place. Make your criticism more constructive and give it room to grow.
Our friends have been there many times since it opened and we will definitely be back.
