I had been to Never Blue a few months ago and LOVED it. I was so excited to go for a wonderful coffee drink and the incredible brownie and it's all I wanted for my birthday. I don't know that I have ever been as disappointed in a dining experience as I was tonight. The feeling at our table was mutual among the 4 of us. We were seated in the dining room as the lounge was closed and we were not happy but we could deal with it. The table was so tight that there was no room between the table leg and chair leg - thank goodness none of us ladies were wearing a dress! When the waiter finally came to the table, after a 10 minute wait, we immediately ordered the famous brownie because it takes 20 minutes and we've all been to NB before. We were ready to order drinks but the waiter insisted he enter the brownie order before taking our drink order. After another 10 minute wait, he came back and we all ordered specialty coffees. We knew it would take a few minutes to prepare the drinks and expected them and the brownie we were sharing to come out around the same time. That did not happen. The brownie came and it was at least 1/3 the size and no where near as good as what we had had at NB before; the quality just was not the same. We completely finished that and waited another 10 minutes before our coffees finally showed up. They were bad too and none of us even drank half. Apparently, the waiter either knew or didn't care what we thought because he never asked. Finally, when the billl came, the coffees cost more than the menu stated and the smaller brownie cost more than it did when it was good and very large. Over $33 for 2 alcoholic coffee drinks, 2 virgin coffee drinks and 1 brownie. The waiter had cleared the menu from the table and we didn't have time to dispute so we paid the bill and left a 20% tip - neither of which we felt good about. I should mention that the restaurant was not busy and we arrived an hour before closing time so there are no excuses in my opinion. We were extremely disappointed and will not be back. There are way too many great restaurants in the Hendersonville/Asheville area to waste our time or money on one that is poor.
