Description: Teach's Island (formerly known as Teach's Island Bar & Grill -at Teach's Lair Marina) is now relocated in the historic Channel Bass building, situated alongside historic “Slash Creek”. Gone is Bar & Grill title because Teach's Island is now a full-fledged, family restaurant. Most tables have views of "TheSlash". Large groups can reserve a private dining area that accommodates up to 48 people. Ample parking is available, just be careful of the geese.

“Open for dinner in the off-season”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2013

One of the few restaurant choices available during the quiet winter months on Hatteras Island, Teach's Island offers local "daily catch" seafood & a selection of other menu choices. Friendly, pub-type atmosphere. If father-in-law Charley is around (usually), ask him about his offering of Hatteras souvenirs.
Don't miss the new location right on Hwy 12 on the left coming into Hatteras (formerly was located at Teach's Lair Marina).
Check for daily hours.

Good ambience. Nice owners. Great grilled tuna. My husband like the shrimp. Bartender Matt was friendly and helpful.

“Fresh Fish, Scrumptious Hush Puppies”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

We've had lots of home-made hush puppies, and these rivalled them all. Crispy and tender, if you're a fan of southern cuisine, don't miss them. On the two nights we ate at Teach's, the catch-of-the-day was swimming the morning of our dinner. we enjoyed Cobia and Red Snapper blackened. The chef had a deft hand with the seasoning, not to salty and the fish was the star. Veg was done to perfection and the carrot cake was sublime according to my better half.

We also enjoyed the steamed shrimp. Steamed to perfection with the right amount of Old Bay. No complaints from us!

Service was fast, friendly, and easy-going.

We ate at this restaurant last weekend and it was the best seafood ever. Would definitely recommend it.
