We ate for the first time at Copper & Vine. It's a neat little two floor Bistro with good communication between the floors. While the food and wine were excellent, we had a special treat. It seems that the nationally popular singer songwriter "Lipbone" lives in Greenville, and when not on tour, pops in to do a little informal local gig. Well, this was the night, and the place was packed with fans. Good thing we made reservations! The vibes were great and it all worked out. Unlike some restaurants that fall apart when slammed, these guys and gals thrived on it. I understand that the Lipbone appearance happens every couple of months, but that they also have light entertainment other Fridays.
Now for the food. My wife had a perfect "signature" flatiron steak with french potato salad and greens salad. I had a chef's sampler of tapas plates (small plates are a specialty). Abundant cheeses, Mediterranean meatballs, chorizo stuffed figs, and delightful crab cake. The waiter suggested a Chilean cab which turned out closer to a zin in robustnes, and much to our liking. Couldn't pass up a caramel chocolate cake and a creme caramel, either.
The bistro also incorporates a wine shop, and a nice bar upstairs. Definitely a keeper..
