A fantastic, boutique hotel with charming owners. We arrived a little late on the Sunday night at the start of our stay, the manager could not have been more charming or friendly despite the late hour. We were shown to our room which was the height of luxury, everything had been thought of including a TV in the bedroom as well as the lounge, everything working beautifully.

Underfloor heating meant that the stone floor was never cold, towel robes were very cosy and the bed was huge and very comfortable.

The breakfast was enormous and delicious, served by the hotel owner, who also gave us good recommendations for dining out and things to do.

This hotel provides excellent value and is conveniently close to bath. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: Not many rooms to choose from, though the room with a lounge was excellent.

Well what can we say?
As per the last review we read for Brittons Farm we were given a very warm reception by the owners Fred and Helen. We didn't have any trouble booking and in fact it was a very easy and well thought out process. We even had the option of choosing our breakfast online AND booking our breakfast time online too!

The facilities and the grounds are outstanding. The attention to detail was very very good - we are interior designers and we could see the work that has gone into the place.

Our room was very private - very chic and very calming. Lovely comfortable beds served for an excellent sleep and the breakfast was devine!

Needless to say we will be going back as soon as we have time in the new year.

In summary I would say this place redefines Bed and Breakfast but as the owners referred to it a Luxury 'Boutique Homestay'

I selected Brittons Farm estate as a location for our first anniversary, I wanted somewhere in the vicinity of Bath. When I saw the website (via Laterooms) I was very impressed, perfect for a relaxing retreat. The booking process was very easy and the owners were very helpful when I called to ask a couple of questions. When we arrived we had a lovely welcome from the couple who owned the estate, they helped us to settle in and left us our breakfast menu, explaining they would return to take our order shortly, they bring the breakfast to your room. They also asked where we were going to eat later, we explained we wanted a nice country pub, they were very obliging and not only recommended a couple of places but booked a table for us. The room itself was very high spec, the wet room lovely with Molton Brown products for our use, the bed was very comfortable and we had a great night sleep. The breakfast next day was delivered on time and superb! The location with regards to Bath was great, only 5-10 minutes down the road. This place has only been open since May 2011 but the reports in the visitors book were of the highest order, overall a very pleasant stay and definitely recommended!

This is not a review as such as I never got as far as making the reservation thanks to the idiosyncrasies of their website which insisted number of children be put in to make a booking. Quite hard when you dont have any! I then contacted the email address to try to make a booking that way and to my amazement was told by Fred one of the owners to search elsewhere and called an ****** for criticising their website! I informed Fred I would be posting this experience on tripadvisor to stop other people having to suffer this delightful experience and he said I could write what I liked as he only cared about the reviews on Laterooms which were written by real people! I was upset and very disappointed by the treatment I received as it looks a beautiful place but needless to stay I will never set foot in the place. You have been warned!

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Brittons Farm is a 1643 Jacobean Manor House and cottages set in a beautiful 42 acre estate only 8 minutes drive from the center of the World Heritage City of Bath. It is a beautiful contemporary home set in an official area of outstanding beauty (AONB) and area of conservation in the heart of the South Cotswolds. This charming property offers very quick and easy access to all the cultural interests of Bath and beyond providing a wonderful fusion of 'Town and Country' living. We are located literally 8-10 minutes by car into the heart of the city centre and less than 5 minutes from 'Landsdown Park & Ride' and Bath Racecourse. We offer a flexible package of fully renovated accommodation options - from our Luxury Junior Suite with its own private lounge ( equipped with 47" Ultra Slim Samsung LED TV and B&O music system) to a Luxury Double or Twin bedroom suite. All our bedrooms are very well equipped and include LED Flat Screen TV - Satellite TV including full Movies and Sports package - music system with radio/CD player and a selection of music to suit most tastes. Our rooms and our service are definitely 5 star - however as we have purposely not gone down the route of 'Visit Britain' and the Tourism Board ( waste of time) we have only been able to give ourselves a Four Star rating because of Laterooms self assessment policy.Breakfast options are from continental through to a healthy 'Full English' using where possible only locally produced 'West Country' ingredients. The owners are both trained and qualified chefs and provide some welcome additions to the standard 'bed and breakfast' menu. All of this is uniquely served in the comfort and privacy of your own suite at your dining and chairs facing out through the floor to ceiling windows onto the central courtyard gardens. When in your private suite we encourage you to relax and enjoy your stay - in the morning you can sit in your 500gm toweling robes and enjoy your sumptuous 'butler service' style breakfast served at your crisp white linen clad private table and just let the world slip by! In your room you will find a number of well thought out touches to make your stay as comfortable as possible. These include the wonderful Nespresso coffe machines, herbal teas, cookies, special built in hairdryers in the bathroom (see pics), Molton Brown bubbles/hand lotion and White Company Room Sprays and Diffusers. We are fortunate enough to have some very good country 'gastro -pubs' within 2-7 minutes drive from the property. There is also a charming pub 25 minutes walk away.Although the property is termed a 'farm' it is not a working farm as such and therefore you need not worry about the 'noise and smells' sometimes associated with a farm based B&B experience! However that said we do have lovely chickens that provide us with fresh free range eggs. We have 30 Organic Welsh Sheep that keep our paddocks 'mowed down'. We have a collection of ponies and thoroughbred horses, and then there's 'Matilda' and 'Paddy' the very friendly Micro Pigs.So in summary we offer modern, stylish, contemporary, high spec/quality living set in a traditional environment. So we regret if Chintz is what you're after then we're not able to oblige. ... more   less
