My 16 year old daughter and I recently did the trail and beach ride. Overall, we had a great time and many stories and memories. They have a 7 a.m. ride and a 5 p.m. ride. We chose the evening ride. They provide helmets for anyone to use and require them for people 16 years old and younger, which I was pleased about for safety. My daughter and I are not experienced riders and neither were most/all of the others in our group. Once we reached the beach, the guides let us split into two groups, one for people who wanted to continue with the horses walking, and another for those who want to try trotting. I chose the trotting group, and my daughter's horse also chose the trotting group, against her wishes! But she was fine! Any annoyances in the experience were really just due to all of us being inexperienced riders, e.g., there is a lot of vegetation within easy reach of the horses on the trail, but we could not let them eat, which was easier said than done for us greenhorns! They will ask you for your height and weight on the phone so that they can place you on a suitable horse and also ask about the extent of your riding experience for the same reason. They clearly are on top of things and know what they are doing.
