“Great place for the Toodler Set”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012

My 2 1/2 yr old loves this place. Its a small museum, nothing fancy but it keeps the little ones busy from the moment they hit the door. Of course, Mom and Grandma for also busy running after my daughter. She can't decide what to play with first, there is so much for her to touch and play with.

“OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

An OK way to spend an hour or two with small kids, but not great. The exhibits are a bit worn out and need refreshing.

“Not old enough yet...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We took our 15 month old there, and it just didn't click for us. I could see the older toddlers having fun, but our family just didn't have an amazing time. We lasted there about 30 mins. However, for the price, it was worth the distraction for the morning!

“How I wish I could love you.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Oh Fascinate-U, how I wish I could love you, but you are so sad, tired and worn. Fayetteville desperately needs indoor places for children. We go here because there isn't much else to do in this town and its cheap. Fascinate-U is the cheapest children's museum I've come across and it shows. Everything is broken, old and not very fun.

Its set up like a town just like many other children's museum around the country. First, you come to the "construction" area. A small 4'x4' area with building blocks and pretend tools. Next, you have the bank with a vault. This contains vault drawers that you can peer into, a desk with an old copier on it (doesn't work). The bank has a wooden drawer with play money, a window and stool. The "Courthouse" is a judge's desk and some benches. "Post office" is small cubicles for the mail, a real mail carrier's shoulder bag and a mailbox. "Grocery store" (probably the most favored spot in the museum) is a small area with two shopping carts, various play foods, a scale (not sure if it works), and cash register (usually works, yay!).
After that, you've got the medical area with a stretcher and two dentist chairs (one of them works sometimes). Various medical items strewn about.
Then you come to the more physical play area... a "firehouse" where you climb up the stairs and slide down the fireman's pole.Dress up stuff is here... helmets, boots, pants, etc. A military area has a stand to climb with a platform that children can look down from. There are some wooden vehicles that kids can climb on and pretend to drive (stationary). The "theater" has dress up clothes, shoes and wigs. The "weather station" is a desk with US map and weather magnets so you can do the weather report on TV. Kids can look at themselves on tv.

There is a back room that is well hidden for toddlers. It has a play house with a kitchen, tables, assorted dishes and play food. It also has a table with chairs and dolls with a cradle. The play house has an upstairs with giant pillows and books. The rest of the toddler room is assorted kids toys.

This place has a lot of cute paintings on the walls. Even the girls bathroom is really cute with a huge mermaid and lots of sea creatures painted on the walls. However, there is lots of wasted space here like the "park" which is just an area of green outdoor carpet and a table... really?

Bottom line, visit if you live here and you're absolutely bored. Travelers, don't waste your time. FYI, I've been to many children's museums around the country.... New Braunfels, TX, Tacoma, Wa, Olympia, WA, Ann Arbor, MI, Myrtle Beach, SC, and Raleigh, NC, those are all fine children's museums
