My family and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn- Fayetteville on 8/25/12. We spent one night here on our way back home to NY. It was conveniently located off I-95, which factored into our reason for selecting this hotel. I booked this room after reading other Trip Advisor Reviews. I was a little hesitant to book but decided to give it a try. The first thing I did was to make sure I requested a pack and play, since I had a small child with me. I booked my room on the Red Roof Inn website as that is where I was able to find the cheapest price. I arrived at the hotel around 9 PM. I did not notice an odor or foul smell at all. I voiced my concerns (about smells, etc) to the person at the front desk who stated that the hotel was going to be renovated in the next few months. I also checked to ensure the pack and play was in my room and was informed it was. I had a room on the 3rd floor. Entering the elevator, it did smell of smoke but that was the only odor I noticed during my stay. The room was clean, albeit old. It was a fine room to sleep in for just one night. What I was not happy about was the pillow situation. They were flat and uncomfortable. I voiced this to the person checking me out the next morning and was again informed that the rooms were going to be renovated shortly. Breakfast was ok- donuts, muffins, cereal, toast, english muffins, bagels and apples. It's not the greatest selection but my kids were able to eat cereal so I have no complaints. I would stay here again if the need arose.
