I made a reservation online because I wanted my reservation to count towards the promotional offer. Before making the reservation, I called the hotel with some questions. I wanted to know if the breakfast they offered was continental or a hot breakfast or such, the person who answered the phone assured me it was a full hot breakfast and promptly hung up, without even saying good bye. I gave her the benefit of the doubt citing bad service for the rudeness and continued with my reservation online. I arrived to the front desk with my information ready. The woman at the front desk was rude and dismissive- more interested in what she was doing before my arrival. Tired from my drive from PA, I again gave the benefit of doubt. Our given room was dirty- stained sheets, rugs, and chairs. The air conditioning unit was visibly broken- a large metal piece was lying underneath the unit. The bathroom wasn't clean and the toilet had urine stains on the seat and under around it. When my husband turned on the air conditioning unit, it sounded like a speeding train in our room. With all of these negatives, I went to the front desk to address the issues with the same dismissive representative. She said someone would be by to look at the room. My husband and I waited but again, we just drove from PA and we were very tired. We gave up and got into bed. His bed sheets were more stained than mine- he felt the need to sleep completely covered up: hoodie, socks, long PJ bottoms- to avoid the skin contact with the sheets. I did the same since there were hairs and bloodstains on the sheets. I fell asleep because I have the ability to sleep thru anything at all, but my husband was awake all night! No one ever came to check the room. In the morning, we showered and headed to breakfast. Our full hot breakfast consisted of Danishes, muffins, donuts, and coffee. I specifically asked and that's not what I was told. Unhappy, we decided to go to breakfast at Shoney's- an expensive that shouldn't have been because I was expecting a breakfast and would have stayed at a hotel that could meet that expectation. While checking out, there were 2 representatives behind the desk. I approached the woman to turn in my keys; she never made eye contact with me and just said, “ok.” I guess that was her way of saying “bye,” but I answered her ok with “my stay wasn’t good, but thank you for asking. The room was dirty, the sheets were stained, the air conditioner was too noisy to allow my husband to sleep and broken, the bathroom smelled of urine, and breakfast consists of donuts when I was told it would have items like eggs.” The male representative, with long dreadlocks, said he’d write it down. I informed him it was supposedly written down last night when I first complained about it, and the woman replied, “so its done then,” and went back to her papers. They were so engulfed in their papers; they had just booked 30 rooms. I left this hotel being so mad at the lack of service and the disgusting accommodations, but was more inconvenienced when my husband said his lack of sleep made it hard for him to drive! Also, stopping at Shoney’s put us behind schedule! Thank you Quality Inn of Fayetteville!
