“Nice find in E.C.!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 20, 2014

Well above what I expected--good local history and well put together exhibits. They have had a touring Coast Guard exhibit that was great for Coastie Fans like us! Call ahead for hours and current exhibits.

“Good Use of Time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2014

Great variety! Lovely setting and lovely building. The gift shop was particularly nice, and everyone in the building was extremely pleasant.

“Surprising new exhibits”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 14, 2014

We have been to the Museum of the Albemarle several times before............but this time we were blown away by all the new exhibits they have installed since our last visit over a year ago. Highly recommend this to our OBX visitors as a day trip on a rainy day. Free admission, room for youngsters to amuse themselves on the first floor and the great exhibit about the local area is on the second floor. Rotating exhibits occupy gallery on first floor so don't stop there.
PS: nice gift shop too

“Interesting museum!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2013

Friend and I were there to see the GONE WITH THE WIND exhibit!
Small, but very well done with an interesting add-on Civil War exhibit. Beautiful facility! Worth the trip from VA Beach!

“Great museum but underutilized”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2013

This is a great place but you get the feeling it is underutilized given the space. Lots of local information you can't get elsewhere. It would be great if more people knew about it and it is located downtown and near the waterfront which is all walkable.
