First, the good part of B&B. Bed: room was large, well decorated, clean, comfy bed. Bath was large and luxurious. Great value for the price. There was wine and cheese for happy hour when we arrived and was left out for a night cap when we came home from dinner. B&B is located within walking distance of the "downtown" where the restaurants which is a plus. The only negative was breakfast. (the other part of B&B) Our eggs were good,but the potatoes were undercooked and crunchy and the bacon and sausage were cold. They'd obviously been sitting around for a while.

I was in Edenton as part of the crew for the visiting Elizabeth 2 historic replica ship from Manteo and decided to treat myself to a B&B stay instead of sleeping on the wooden floor of a boat one of the nights. What a greatly enjoyed splurge of money! So worth it! The room was beautiful, even though the shower was small in room 4, (bathroom is roomy), the creative way a private bath was added to this room of the historic parsonage adds interest and comfort. This inn really does blend the graciousness of the past with present day amenities. Even though I was going to have to miss the sit-down breakfast because of having to be up & out before daybreak to get back to the boat in time to help prepare for departure, Guiliano prepared a delectable warm breakfast sandwich along with fresh fruit that I could eat on the go & handed it to me in a brown lunch bag as I hurriedly
departed at 5:30 AM. He makes every effort to ensure a pleasant, comfortable visit.

Room Tip: If you are of robust size or stature, a room with a larger shower may be preferred.

The Parsonage is a beautiful inn; simply elegant. Excellent host. Superb chef! Breakfast is world-class Buy his cookbook! We highly recommend The Parsonage, would stay again, and refer to friends. Edenton is a picture-book historical waterfront town. Award-winning host give personal attention to every detail.

Room Tip: Room #1 is recommended. Ground Floor, adjacent to living room and away from other guests.

I had the amazing opportunity to stay two nights at the Parsonage Inn after I had just come out of surgery. I was given a beautiful room. I felt like a princess and was treated like a queen! The bed was huge and I felt like I was sleeping on a cloud. The bath/shower was incredible, I was tempted to spend the majority of my stay in it. To say the breakfast was delicious would be an understatement, and the afternoon wine and cheese was icing on the cake considering all of the wonderful hospitality I had already received from Giuliano, the awesome owner of this grand place. One would be missing out considerably if they came to Edenton and didn't stay at the Parsonage. Two of the best days, and nights, ever spent anywhere! Looking forward to my next stay there! :}

My partner and I came to the Parsonage Inn for a couple nights to celebrate our anniversary, and enjoyed our stay immensely. The Inn is very well appointed, all the rooms having tasteful and well-kept furniture appropriate to the historic house itself.

The breakfast was lovely each morning, though we both found that some of the fruit in the fruit salad had gone off, which was disappointing. The owner is a trained chef who went to the Culinary Institute of America, so we were looking forward to the food, which was mostly very good. We differed as to opinions of the coffee, which to me tasted more of a grain coffee, though my partner enjoyed it immensely.

Lastly, we did have one complaint, which was that the spa/shower/sauna unit in our room's bathroom seemed to only have one temperature: scalding. We brought this to the attention of the innkeeper who said he'd look into it, but when we tried it again the next day the result was the same. Perhaps the temperature knob didn't work. Not enough to spoil the trip, but a bit of a disappointment given that it was one of the features of the room we stayed in, and it ended up we couldn't use it for too long for being scalded by the extreme heat of the water.

The Inn's location is prime, within a very easy walk of downtown and the water, complete with a couple of good restaurants and shops, as well as beautifully ornate houses in the surrounding neighborhoods. We look forward to returning at some point. Hopefully by then whatever kinks there are now will have been worked out by time. (It's still a relatively new Inn, though the Innkeeper has been in the business for many more years.)
