“Relaxing and delicious getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

I decided to take my wife to Edenton for a two day getaway in the middle of the week, and chose the Parsonage Inn based on the website. We were not disappointed! From Giuliano's welcome as soon as we arrived, I knew that I had picked the right place. Our room was immaculate and wonderfully decorated; the bed was comfortable; the bathroom was large, with a great Jacuzzi-style bathtub/shower. Giuliano was a delight to talk to, and he had great suggestions for places to eat in town and things to do during our stay. But the best part were the gourmet breakfasts; Giuliano was prepared with several choices each morning, from simple eggs to Belgian waffles to breakfast soufflés, and we were not disappointed. We love Edenton, and the Parsonage Inn will be our go-to B&B from now on!

Every inch of the Parsonage Inn shows how much thought and care Giuliano has put into the place. We stayed in one of the larger rooms, which had a huge Jacuzzi/sauna/shower/etc. (I never new there were so many ways to experience water in a bathroom!) Breakfast each morning was just as good as any gourmet restaurant and so filling that we weren't hungry until nearly dinner time. There was no need to go out to dinner because of the generous snacks and wine Giuliano provided every afternoon. Not to mention the free-flowing chocolates! Delicious chocolates are tucked everywhere - in the bedrooms, in the snack bar, in every container sitting around. I think I ate nearly a whole plate of cherry cordials on my own. The antique furniture and decorations are adorable, and our room was super comfortable. Juanita, who served us at breakfast every morning, is so friendly and helpful. I was sad to leave after an all-too-short weekend.

Room Tip: If you stay in suite 2 or 3, be sure to coordinate with the guests in the other room on the thermost...

This was our third and best visit to Edenton. We stayed at the "new" Parsonage Inn and loved it and the Host. The inn keeper came out to the car in the parking lot to introduce himself and help us with our gear. He gave us a tour of the house and told us to make ourselves at home. The historic house is inthe historic district. It has been beautifully restored and is full of history both his sicilian family past and of the local area.
We had booked in for three nights but loved the inn and the area so much we stayed an extra night. It doesn't take long to discover that the inn keeper has had a long and successful record at inn keeping in Edenton.
It seems that our host and for that matter most all that we met in that area are very gung ho for Edenton and all its great history.

We sadly could only stay one night at the Parsonage, but we'll be back. From beginning (wine and cheese, a warm reception from Giuliano) to end (a fantastic breakfast and morning spent wandering around edenton) it was just great.

Our second time to Edenton and we love it even more. Also our second time to have Giuliano Giannone as our innkeeper. Our first experience with Giuliano was at the Pack House Inn in Edenton where won the innkeeper of the year award. The Parsonage Inn is his newly opened inn in the heart of the historic district just a few minutes walk from downtown and the waterfront.
The inn is a beautifully restored property that reflects the history of its time. Each evening we were treated to red and white wines with goodies in the beautiful parlor with relaxing music in the background. Our room was wonderful, great period furnishings and a large bath. Giuliano is a trained chef so the three course breakfasts were out of sight! I have never had any better at a B&B. The staff was great, we were well cared for! There is an open kitchen stocked with coffee, teas, water, chocolates for your enjoyment. Giuliano and his staff made you fell at home, like family. The best recommendation I can give the Parsonage Inn is that my wife and I will be back again and again and again ...... Thanks Giuliano.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2013

We stayed at The Parsonage Inn during their first two nights of operation, for the Heritage Tour (celebrating the 300th anniversary of Edenton, North Carolina's colonial capital, in April 2013). It is a lovingly restored home with perfect, historically appropriate furnishings. Our room was very spacious, with a handsome ornamental fireplace and mantel. Our bathroom was also quite spacious and included a tub with shower, a secluded toilet, and a very nice sink area with several built-in shelves for plenty of toiletries kept at-hand but out of the way.

When we returned from a day of touring the town, there was red and white wine in the parlor, with relaxing chamber-type music playing, and with a cheese board service with a few types of crackers. The pantry in the evening had various chocolate bites on offer, as well as bottled water to take back to our rooms. But a true highlight of The Parsonage Inn is the breakfast (see photo's we posted). Giuliano (Giannone) is a gourmet cook - qualified well beyond what you might hope for in a B&B. I'm sure he could cook a grand dinner... that's the calibre of cuisine you can expect at the breakfast table here.

Note - The Parsonage Inn is in the middle of the historic district, with great walking in about 4 blocks in every direction. The main street, with 2-3 nice restaurants, a couple of dozen fun shops and stores, a great "small-town" coffee shop (often with area musicians on weekend nights), as well as the lovely waterfront, are literally 1 and 1/2 to 3 blocks away.

Finally, we had to leave at 5:00 in the morning to drive to Norfolk for our early flight back to New York, and when the staff learned this, they let us know they'd set the coffee timer in the pantry for 4:30 am. We were able to enjoy a great cup of coffee (half and half in the fridge; Starbuck's "Via" sleeves if you preferred that; various teas and sweeteners, including organic agave syrup available as well... everything an Edentonian or New Yorker, alike, might hope for).

Lovely town, lovely inn, charming innkeeper, caring staff, great breakfast - we hope it's not long before we can return.
