The Barker House is definitely a slice of Edenton history. Located right on the scenic water front on the Roanoke River it is definitely worth a visit. The two ladies who staffed the house were very friendly and well informed about the history of the house and its most notable resident who lead a petition to the english government that echoed the sentiments of the Boston Tea Party. The facility was well maintained and quite interesting. Note that the house is not at its original location and that the part facing the water is actually the front of the house.
