“Very elegant!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2013 via mobile

Very elegant rooms and common areas, although rooms could be larger given the cost. Lots of comfortable stuffed chairs and sofas suitable for reading or conversation. Excellent restaurant and bistro. Abundant self parking. Outdoor dining on patio is available overlooking a putting green. Very friendly and helpful staff. RGinTally

We spent 1night here with some friends, as we were going to an exhibit at the art museum. The hotel was lovely, and our rooms very comfortable, luxurious bathrooms and super comfy beds. We got very good rates as it was out of season, and although the view from the bedroom was not anything to write home about, I would not quible as everything else was excellent.
Breakfast the next day was delicious and abundant, did not need lunch later that's for sure.
I would love to come back when we could spend some more time just enjoying the grounds and pool etc.

Room Tip: Super room and bathroom

We were in with a family wedding. The hotel staff was awesome. In particular, the housekeeping staff was always there to greet us, to ask if we needed anything, etc. Prices were good. Food delicious. And we loved the golf course. We'll definitely return on any future visits to Durham. Everything/everyone was just spot on.

Room Tip: Face the golf course if you can, but the front facing was just fine, too

I was here for a conference, the property itself is beautiful, the golf course and all the trees and beautiful outdoor areas make it very serene. The staff was very friendly, the rooms were clean and I was impressed. The rooms were a bit overpriced as well as the food in the restaurant and room service but that is what you expect at places like this. The pool and fitness area were very nice.

Have contacted the Washington Duke Inn on two different occasions to inquire about reservations. We always travel with our furry baby. This facility advertises that it is "pet friendly" however I have not found them to be friendly at all. They should be considered "Pet Tolerant" maybe. You cannot leave your pet unattended in the room and they require a pet sitter for $10/hr with a minimum of 3 hours. You have to bring your pet in through the golf entrance and they are basically not allowed anywhere on the property. And you pay a 50.00 clean up fee. Why even bother? It may be a wonderful place to stay and it looks to be, but please don't say you're pet friendly when you really aren't. Those of us that are responsible pet owners and lovers are very sensitive to treatment towards our furry friends! We'll go to the Fearrington House. They are very friendly and love furry critters. And it's a beautiful property and accommodations are outstanding!! Sorry Wa Duke Inn you're off our list for places to stay.

This was a great property with spacious rooms. Outdoor dining area was really great. The grounds were lovely and the flowers were blooming. I was only there for a day, but I would definately love to go back for a longer stay. Very historical decor and family pictures --nicely decorated.

Many options for dining, casual and dressy. Breakfast buffet option was great, you also have the ability to order from the menu.

Beautiful hotel with a great lobby bar and outdoor patio overlooking the golf course. The rooms are spacious and well decorated, very clean and well maintained. This is the best hotel in and around Durham.

Very close to campus so you can walk to the various buildings, especially Fuqua School of Business.

Highly recommended for families, business travelers, and those visiting the school.
