“wonderful weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

My wife and I had the recent pleasure of staying at the Arrowhead Inn as part of a family reunion of 16 people. We could not have made a better choice. Innkeepers Gloria and Phil are a delight and worked with the family in advance of our stay to accommodate everyone, providing a couple of foldup beds as needed. The rooms were luxurious and very comfortable. Breakfasts, prepared by gourmet chef Phil were fabulous with fresh fruit cups, fresh-baked scones, and marvelous egg dishes. Our family also requested a dinner one evening, prepared by Phil, and we were not disappointed. Phil and Gloria consulted with us on the menu to accommodate any dietary restrictions, and the meal was truly memorable. During the days we enjoyed porch sitting, croquet and frisbee on the lovely grounds, and evenings on the outdoor patio. We highly recommend the Arrowhead Inn for a reunion or any occasion.

This Bed and Breakfast is a traditional delight. The plantation house is immaculate and decorated with period accessories and pictures, but I think the broad-plank hardwood floors are my favorite antique feature. We stayed in the Mason Room and found it cozy and comfortable. While the ambiance is very reminiscent of a Southern history, the amenities are tackfully current. The rainfall showerhead, quality tiling, and understated vanity give the petit bathroom functional luxury. And thank you for the Wi-Fi! I've become spoiled and now really do want this included at all lodging as it is at the Arrowhead. A note on service: we arrived much later than expected, getting in at 10:30pm. Gloria stayed up late to receive us, show us our room, and make sure we got settled okay. I felt terrible about the late arrival, and could not apologize enough, but Gloria was very gracious and accommodating about it. I have saved the best for last. Phil makes the best gourmet breakfasts! So don't sleep in, make it downstairs to enjoy the best part of a B&B, the breakfast!

While travelling home from Asheville, NC last October we stopped for a one night stay at the Arrowhead Inn located on a quiet road with peaceful surroundings. While we stayed in the main house in the smallest room it was most comfortable. Sunday night supper was delicious as was breakfast. Phil and Gloria provide great hospitality. This inn was another find through the Deneen Pottery website "Find your next mug" page. When we are ever in the Durham area again we would again look forward to staying at Arrowhead Inn.

A wonderful place to stay for the night on our return trip home. We thoroughly enjoyed Phil's"Meal of the Moment" that evening and the Salmon Eggs Benedict the following morning was outstanding. The Inn is conveniently located about seven miles off I-85.

thank you phil and gloria for a wonderful night. The room we had was beautiful and our son john was very pleased with his nightly stay,, Phil , your scones were awesome and we ate the rest of them in the car. The grounds here are beautiful and I can imagine how nice it is in the late spring and summer. Thanks again "kids" for a great night, paul, andrea and john

My wife and I are educators and during spring break had lots of commitments so only really had one day to ourselves. We elected to spend that one day close to home at the Arrowhead Inn. It was a little pricey but well worth every penny. Spending time with Phil and Gloria was kind of like dropping in on your neighbors...if your neighbors had a house WAY better than yours. They have done a tremendous job making sure that every room is just perfect. We stayed in the Duke Suite which was spectacular from fireplace to awesome tub. For dinner we went with Phil's Meal of the Moment. We had no idea what we were getting but when he walked out of the kitchen with cornish game hen with an apricot/ginger glaze we almost swooned. Delicious. It was a wonderful one day retreat from reality.

Room Tip: We didn't see a bad room. Each was wonderfully unique.
