“Very good choice for comfort and convenience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

We typically choose hotels a little closer to Chapel Hill when we go to the Tar Heel 10 miler, but decided to try a different hotel this year - and we're very glad we did. The Fairfield Inn and Suites is clean, cool, comfortable and convenient. While I'm on the "c" routine, the front desk staff is not only competent, but caring, too. We appreciated the friendliness of all staff during our brief stay. Access to retail, restaurants, and highways is excellent. We look forward to returning.

I chose to stay at this hotel on a trip to visit Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill and this proved to be the ideal location, with easy access to both. I stay almost exclusively at Marriott brand hotel and this one was exceptional for a Fairfield. It is new and contemporary. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. It is large for a Fairfield, so my only word of caution might be that it is also attractive for traveling sports teams. This was the case our first night, and the breakfast staff was clearly overwhelmed by the rush of athletes the next morning. The only other comment is that the windows open and there are no screens! That was a little unsettling, especially if you have young children with you. Make sure they stay locked!

Room Tip: Ask to stay on the side away from the road. The morning rush hour traffic was a bit noisy at 7am.

Spring break visit to UNC and Duke. Perfect location. New and very beautiful. Lobby is stunning. Nice pool and very quiet rooms. Location right of higheay. Super target next door. Beautiful fish restaurant across street.

I come to Durham once a month and this particular week all Durham hotels were outrageously priced. I found this property with a reasonable $121 rate and decided to give it a shot. The staff is excellent and very friendly. This is a recently renovated hotel having been a Sheraton Four Points and an independent hotel in the past. The renovations were done well and the rooms are well appointed. There was a nice work space, a mini-fridge, comfortable beds and clean carpet. I didn't try the breakfast, but at night they do have a bar with alcoholic beverages. Within walking distance you'll find a Bonefish Grill and Tavern Burger and Beer across the street and a Chik-Fil-A next door. If you like walking, the Southpoint Mall is about a mile or so down the road and there's a great walking trail will take you there. Overall a solid property and would stay again.

We try to only stay at Marriott hotels so when we left the Duke game this is what we looked for. It's close to the interstate and was only 10 mins from Cameron. The interior was beautiful, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was great. This will be on our list to stay each time we visit the Durham area.

This hotel was host to a focus group for an upcoming trial over the past weekend. This is a complex case with many moving parts, requirements, and set up needs. This hotel surpassed our needs on so many different levels. From the attention to detail, staff friendliness, and overall service, the Fairfield Inn and Suites truly represented what quality service is all about. Led by their guest services manager Jack, each member of the staff stepped up to the plate. I have a unique perspective as I am in the hospitality field and have a different perspective of what I look for in an overall experience. From the Night Auditor to the Breakfast Ambassador, to the Executive Housekeeper to the Set Up team, to the Front Desk team, this hotel gets it. No request was too big, no question dismissed. Their attitude was "How May We Be Of Service."

I highly recommend this hotel for any needs you have. The location is good, the hotel is in good shape but the one thing setting this hotel is the STAFF! Training is good, systems are good but you cannot train for attitude. The staff has a great mindset and attitude.

Thank you to everyone who worked on February 20,21,22 2015. You made a profound difference and our team really appreciate you.

This hotel seems really nice. It's near Southpoint Mall and other shopping and convenient to I40. It has been renovated recently. It has a five or six story atrium lobby that is very impressive. The elevator area at one end of the lobby is covered by a nice bit of art. Rooms are spacious, well-equipped, bright. The staff is courteous. Our stay was incredibly quiet, probably owing to the fact the hotel was maybe 25% full. I would definitely stay here again.
