“Good BBQ just not North Carolina Style”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

More Texas or Kansas City style. The meat is good as are most of the sides. Don't order their pulled pork. If you like NC BBQ you will be highly disappointed in this pork. Likewise their Bruinswick Stew leaves a lot to be desired. This restaurant is not a sit down & order place. You put your order in the the cashier, pay and wait for your number to be called. I don't know where some or the other reviews came from about waitresses, beer and aluminum plates. None of these are in this Danny's. Yes food is served on styrofoam plates with plastic cutlery but that is normal in this type of restaurant. I eat there about once a month and have for years simply because it is fast and the meats are good. They do not even have a liquor license - so they can't serve beer.

“Good Texas style BBQ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013 via mobile

I eat here multiple times a month and I've been coming since it opened many years ago. The chopped pork and brisket are very good and so is the banana pudding. Arrive before noon to beat the crowd.

“Slow but tasty”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

The good: the food was very tasty.
Ribs - delicious and tender
Chopped Pork - one of my kids loved it, the other thought it was ok.
Baked beans - very good
Stew - very good, but could have used a little kick
The not so good:
Limited drink selection - beer only (no wine) - but glad they had something other than the standard soft drink, sweet tea to offer
Service: the waitress was very friendly but it took an extraordinarily long time to get both food and drinks. We waited for over 1/2 hour for our order to arrive at the table. Considering how little is generally cooked to order in this type of place, this seemed a bit odd.
Atmosphere: it could have been very homey except that it had the standard sterile, bright strip mall feel to it. It was very clean though which is always nice.

“Flippin' Awful. You feel like you are in prison!”

Smoked, fried chicken served on prison style aluminium plates with plastic cutlery? Need I say more.

“Good place for quick BBQ...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2008

Good place for quick BBQ for lunch during the week. Prices are very reasonable and you get to pick the sauce you want.
