A strip center bar with character? Yep. It's not quite a dive bar, but it's close. Every time I go there, it seems there are a couple of old guys at one end of the bar who appear to be on the edge of fossilizing in their seats. Sometimes there's this vibe that you're the only one who doesn't know everybody else, but it's certainly not unfriendly.
The food is much better than you would expect, especially the great wings. But it's mostly about the beer. The selection isn't huge, but everyone should be able to find some acceptable suds. I have had a problem a couple of times, though, with the draft beer not being as cold as I would like.
The bartenders are upbeat and attentive. There's greenery and strand lights around the bar overhang, so it's like eternal Christmas. They also seem to be busy no matter the time of day. Occasionally you run across some clientele who are a whisper away from sketchy, but that's all part of the fun.
For an interesting contrast, do a pub crawl with this place and City Beverage across the street.
