I've been patronizing Waffle House restaurants since the 1970's. Good cheap food, specializing in Breakfasts. Many southern dishes done up fast food. Grits and sausage gravy, etc. Low, low prices that make IHOP seem uptown. Ann, our waitress was excellent and attentive. Don't think the guy out back that day knew how to cook an overeasy egg. Mine was cooked yolk solid, wife's egg was still liquified. But usually those things are fine, so I chalk it up to a training issue. Speaking of training, the manager was in the booth next to ours, and was prepping the young Junior Manager for attending Waffle University or whatever their training site is. The young fellow seemed nervous but totally chomping at the bit to get his new restaurant management career underway. Scenic view of the highway.
