“Awesome pizza, staff and atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Great little restaurant in downtown Durham. Arrived early and was glad we did so. The restaurant had a line waiting within 30 minutes. The staff were knowledgeable about the food and the drinks to match. The seating allows the staff to place others at your table, which did not bother us. Makes for a great way to meet new people. Both of us ordered a pizza off the detained menu. Unlike the chains, this restaurant has a fixed number of pizzas to choose from. (I found out on another visit, the menu does change) This means excellent quality ingredients. What set this meal as being different is the "salt" the restaurant sprinkles on the crust. Adds a neat flavor to the meal. We enjoyed being able to see the kitchen/oven from our table.
There is a bar, located in the back of the restaurant with entry from a side street.
As for pricing, it is a little more than some restaurants, but it is well worth the visit.

“Unexpected gem in Durham”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

A small but varied selection of wood-fired pizzas - crust was perfectly blackened. We had the Cremini mushroom white pizza and a fabulous kale salad. We shared each dish which made for a perfect and cost-effective pre-DPAC dinner.

The place is small and seating is cramped so get there early if you are catching a show. And boy is the place noisy! Then go next door for a cupcake.

“Good date night”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2013

This place would be good for a date-night but not for families. There was no kids-menu, the pizza was overpriced for what you got. There are much tastier Italian restaurants out there.

“Worth a visit for an "upscale" pizza experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

If you're looking for a conventional pizza experience this is not the place to come. However, for a more "upscale" experience with creative toppings and preparation, this place is worth a try. (Be advised, no "half and half" toppings options allowed). It was crowded on the Saturday evening when we came here, and we ended up eating in the adjoining bar area.

“GREAT Pizza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

They will alter the pizza as you wish:). I had eggplant topped with arugula...a mind! We also tried the marguerite with arugula, everything we had was made fresh to order. Order blond if you want it cooked lightly.
