“Fast food, but not that kind of fast food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

Great tacos here, with a wide variety of ingredients and a wonderful salsa bar. You order at a counter and pick up your drinks, and then your food is brought to you. If you order the 3-taco combo (which is very popular) they let you choose 3 different tacos if you want.

Of the three times I've been here, the food has arrived very quickly every time (and this was on Saturday lunchtimes and Saturday night). I recommend the fish tacos and the garlic beef tacos particularly. The guac is good--not absolutely outstanding, but good. The nachos and the Mexican chocolate shakes are great! The only thing I have ever not enjoyed here is the calamari, which is a little too thinly sliced and overly breaded, and served with a weird mustard sauce that does nothing for it.

The restaurant itself is fun and casual, if a bit noisy (music and enormous TV contribute to that). They have a small patio out back, but most of the seating is inside. Many people bring their small children here, because it's fast and inexpensive and reasonably healthy. The biggest drawback to coming here is the lack of parking--you have to be lucky and fast.

“Amazing milkshakes, mediocre food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 7, 2014

Four of us went before a show at DPAC. We thought it would be quick and easy and it was. The menu sounds incredible but the food was less than exciting. I ordered the daily special tuna tacos and they were overcooked and too dry to eat. The fried oyster tacos were excellent but the beef taco and burrito weren't very good. The location is nice although parking is a bit limited. The salsa bar had a diverse array of fresh salsas and other items that were all very good. The highlight of the meal was the spicy Mexican chocolate milkshake. The plantain milkshake was good but the chocolate milkshake was incredible. The level of heat was perfect and the chocolate was delicious. I would go back just for a milkshake and skip the food.

“Wonderful place, but needs more flavor”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2014 via mobile

We had dinner here recently, something we were looking forward to for some time.
Food: the food was average at best. They have a wonderful looking menu on their black board, it is exciting and unusual. We ordered a number of dishes, including the taco plate with the dirty meats and guacamole, and black beans and the premium margaritas. The food was well made, the meats were tender and the portions large. However, the food was bland to say the least. It felt that they catered to the lowest spice and flavor level and stuck there. Event the salsas from the bar have minimal flavor.
Ambiance: the ambiance is nice, extremely child friendly and comforting. The place is open and there is ample seating. However, you have to wait in line at peak meal times to order food and get a table.
Service: extremely friendly and great service. The staff are attentive and available to help. We give them high points here.
Overall, we will be hard pressed to go back.

“Damn good!”

Loved this place!! It was a little burrito heaven. Great margaritas to boot. Clean place, cool environment, and friendly staff. Really enjoyed the sauce and pickle bar.

“Awesome food, great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

First visit and very impressed. I fish tacos for the first time ever and they were great! The guy taking our order (James) was very good at explaining the menu and options. The atmosphere was great as well. We had a party of 13 and were very well accommodated by pulling tables together. My husband ordered a beef/garlic burrito which he loved, but his favorite was the Jalapeno pickles...I mean he ate a bunch of'em! Well done NanaTaco!
