Were it not for the urine smell coming out of the bathroom, which appeared spotlessly clean, I'd give this hotel a top rating. Generally very clean, this chain even washes the bedspreads every time a new guest comes in.. Food's pretty good, but no free breakfast. It was $10.95 & was your typical breakfast hotel spread but did have a server. Pretty poor value. The pool was chilly, but it was only 82 in July in North Carolina... normally that pool would have been warmer as the temp is usually closer to 100. Not a cheap room, but then you get what you pay for. Our room was I thought rather small, but well designed. The bed was pretty comfortable. TV had a great pix but only 1 movie channel & the rent a movie feature did not work. The room has a k cup coffee maker, yeah! Small fridge. Only sink in the smelly bathroom. You didn't notice the odor right away, but wow, by the next day it was pretty intense. (No, we didn't cause it!) We really started noticing it late night, when it was really too late to change rooms. We love staying in the RTP on weekends, b/c mainly it's a businessman's spot. It's darn near empty on weekends & we like that. It's also very centrally located near I 40 & pretty much anything in the area you want to get to. There is a train that goes right behind it. Very loud by the pool but hard to notice in room. They also provide ear protection. We wondered why until we heard the first train. It did not wake us though & we didn't use ear plugs. We will go back, but will be quick to change rooms next time. I understand too that this odor can come from pipes but most often comes from, uh, would rather not say but it's hard to clean. On check out I mentioned it to the woman at the counter but could not see if she noted it. BTW, it was room 425.

Room Tip: Don't stay in room 425 & bring breakfast.

Thanks for the review and taking the time to bring some items to our attention. We have looked into and corrected the issues. The North Carolina weather has been a bit cooler this year (a real break to some of us that do not like that extreme heat) but this week HHH (hazy, hot and humid) are back again! We are glad to hear the positives and will work to improve on our challenge issues and look forward to seeing you again for a trouble free stay! Thanks again and see you soon.

The corner 7th floor King room was beautiful- with amazing treetop views. Room was a nice size for 2 people, the bathroom was updated, clean, sophisticated. Front desk staff (Janet was wonderful), as well as bar and breakfast staff were friendly and very accomodating. Call ahead and see how booked the hotel is for conventions and such if you are looking for a quiet weekend. The hotel is close to the airport and RTP, which means it fills up. Pool is great if there are less than 10 guests using it.

Enjoyed the room and set up. First time staying here and the location is attractive and the facilities are in good shape. Would recommend watching the way you come in as it is a bit confusing when leaving. Exiting onto street is not well marked... but the location is nice and location convenient to express way and the Raleigh/Durham area.

Have stayed at this hotel often. Great experience, excellent food, far better quality dinner than you would expect to find at a hotel less than 5 stars. Really don't understand why this review requires minimum of 200 characters.

We stayed at this hotel for a night on our first visit to Durham, NC. The location of the hotel was perfect and the quality of the accommodation outstanding! Good value for money. Highly recommended for parents who travel to drop off kids joining local academic institutions.

Thanks for the great review. Many parents take advantage of our convenient location between Duke, UNC and NC State when bringing their college students back to town. We wish your young scholar the best of luck. We look forward to seeing you on all the college breaks!

Very Nice Staff. Very accommodating to adults and children. As our three-year old came in very cranky from an afternoon nap, they were extra nice and made her feel better with a lollipop and some bubbles to help her afternoon.

The breakfast was a little expensive for what I wanted and there was no way to only get a waffle, you had to get the entire buffet.

The atmosphere of the hotel was great and I really enjoyed coming down stairs to read in the comfortable couch.

Overall great stay!

We really appreciate the great review and were happy to help the little one settle in enjoy their stay. Our front desk staff loves the opportunity to do things for our special little guests and they will be excited to hear that it was noticed. We hope to see you and your family again next year or sooner for your next reunion. Thanks again!
