“A disappointment...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

After reading the other reviews we were looking forward to trying the food. However, we were disappointed in the quality of the food. The rolls were stale and the BBQ dry. Sorry, we've had better Carolina Style BBQ at the Black Hog in Frederick Maryland.

“Yummy BBQ in the OBX”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2012

We ordered everything on the menu for family reunion dinner and was a hit. Make sure to get extra containers of bbq sauce for drizzling. Can't wait to go back!

“Great Bar B Q”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 21, 2012

The place is kinda hidden away but if you find Corolla Village, not far from the Corolla Lighthouse, it is worth the hunt. Great Barbeque. Loved the baked beans which consist of several type beans. Cold Slaw was good but not special.

Give them a call and make sure they have not run out of Barbeque - often they sell out! It is that good.

Fun little shops nearby also. Check out Lovies for treats to take home. Carmel corn is to die for. Violet tea cookies good too.

“Great take-out BBQ”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2012

Was looking for good take-out for our last night in Corolla and found this place on TripAdvisor - and I'm glad we did ! Shack itself is nothing to look at, easy to miss if you're not looking for it ( but it's just north of the lighthouse and easy to find if you are looking for it ! ). It took a little time to get our order filled but it was for 12 people so not unexpected - and definitely worth the wait. Everything was delicious - BBQ, ribs, chicken, sides, everything. Highly recommended.

“Looking for BBQ in Corolla? Don't over look this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

Got dinner for our house of 8 while on vacation in OBX June 9th - 16th. Stopped in and placed order for pickup that evening. The onwer called me personally a few hours later to advise that they were having an awesome day and were going to run out of BBQ before 6:30 (or pick up time) and asked if we could come earlier to get our order. Be sure to call ahead or stop by and order early if you are looking for large portions. Other wise, stop on by for lunch!

We ordered a full rack of ribs, a quart of pulled pork, a quart of backed beans (home made) and a quart of macaroni salad. We also got buns for the pulled pork and several slices of cornbread.

The food was all amazing! The owner stated that she had done a good bit of research over the winter (they are a seasonal restaurant) and had made some minor changes and so far everyone was saying she made everything better than previous years. We all agreed that every thing had gotten even better than the year before.

Another thing to note is this is a walk up counter. The counter is enclosed with a screened porch like area. It is tucked away in Corolla Village behind the Twiddy Corolla Office. There are picnic tables out side to eat at but nothing inside.

Our group had tried the various BBQ joints along the Outer Banks. Corolla Village BBQ can't be beat!
