“Bring your own groceries ”

The place is nice but it has a few small quirks. The prices of food is outrageous, so plan on going out to eat or bring your own. We were told that they close the pools at 11 and when we got here it was 8pm. Most of the staff was friendly especially RJ the life guard . The other life guard in the Orange shirt who stopped everyone playing basketball needs a chill pill. Other than that it's a good place for families. The arcade needs more video games.

We planned a 2-day (weekday) stay here in early March. (Well before spring break trips had kicked in for most of the country.) We had never been, but several of our friends had taken their families and suggested we do the same, so we decided to give it a shot.

I am partially bed-bound so this was the perfect solution for our family. My husband could take our two boys (9 and 11) to the waterpark and resort activities while I remained nearby in our room and able to rest in bed. Our boys loved being able to enjoy the indoor water rides while it was still cold outside, and the arcade and bowling alley were great for "down time".

This is definitely a vacation that's much for for the kids than the adults. But as much as they are still talking about it weeks after the fact, we'll definitely go back again. I do recommend the "off season" - not only are great room discounts available, but the crowds are minimal as well - especially on weekdays.

Room Tip: If you want quiet, request one of the buildings furthest from the main lodge - and a high floor.

GWL in Concord surpassed my expectations. We had a regular room on the 4th floor, with vaulted ceilings. We were traveling with four other families. During the booking process, I felt the need to splurge on a room with the KidCabins but this room was just fine. Clean, spacious, with comfortable beds. Our kids play Magicquest (yes you have kids running up, and down all night long. Not exactly near the rooms down the hallway where Magicquest stops, but if you are looking for a quite area, ask to be placed further down the hall on this floor.) Bring wands if you have them. Keep in mind this is all about the kids, kids, kids- and there will be noise, everywhere. The pizza was a great option, and actually really good! As far as the breakfast buffet, I thought it was lacking in taste and flavor. The omelets were good, but took a very long time. One night we ate at the Wood Fire Grill, and our group felt the food was below expectations, and pricey! Dunkin Donuts was popular, and we were all so happy for good ice coffee in the morning! Beer is expensive, so we bought the long neck aluminum bottles of Bud Light (that is what they serve) and no one asked us a thing. This saved us some money.

Room Tip: Regular rooms on 4th floor have vaulted ceiling with balconies.

A three night stay for our family of 5 kids. It did set us back, but you can do things to save some money. To save a little money, bring lunch and breakfast items for your stay. The pizza isn't bad and it's s great lunch option. Buy the souvenir Coke with free refills. We ate outside of the resort for dinner- except one dinner at the resort. Usual hotel food (buffet), but it wasn't awful. Is it worth it? Yes. The place is set up for kids- and they love it. The "extras" like small ball bowling, 3D shooting game, putt-putt, and a huge arcade made more fun for the kids. The kids loved the water park and they slept great at night!

This resort is a dream come true for kids of all ages (well not likely for teenagers). I took my 11 year old and 9 year old, and a group of friends met me there with varying ages of kids. We got one of the bunk rooms where we had just one double bed with a balcony over looking a hill, and a bunk bedroom. The kids loved it. They are sufficient rooms in terms of space and clean, but nothing spectacular. This isn't luxurious by any means, it is a kid resort, so you have to know this in advanced that this is ALL ABOUT THE KIDS! This is not like a cruise where there is lots of mom and dad romantic and luxury things to do in the evening. What makes Great Wolf a wonderful experience is that you don't have to worry about weather, it is a ton of fun rain or shine. Adults can do all the water activities with the kids! I love the fast water slides, it was so much fun. The lines can get long, but move pretty fast. There are water slides for older kids, there are slides for younger, more timid kids, and there is an exclusive kiddie splash area. The wave pool seems a little dangerous for little kids, but it is a lot of fun. I would keep a close on eye children under 10 years of age because the waves move fast. The life guards are right there, but I don't trust that a 100%. It is a lot of fun so don't let this scare you, but do be prepared to watch your kids carefully. There is another regular pool with fun leap pads and sports oriented things in the pool which is a lot of fun, and during the warm weather months there is a fun outdoor pool and a putt putt. Oh, a favorite of all the kids in our party was the center water park with climbing stations etc. It looks like a tree house--tons of fun, but you can lose your kids in there because it gets busy. There is a food court near this tree house with grilled/fried items like hot dogs etc. I preferred the indoor pizza hut counter. There are restaurants on site, but they are overpriced and not very good. We ended up leaving every day and enjoying the near by restaurants, one of our favorites with the kids was Jack in the Box. You don't have to pay for overpriced food. A lot of days, my friend would stay with the kids while they were in the lobbying watching one of the many kid events, and I would bring back breakfast. Oh, one last thing--Scoops Spa is a lot of fun, yes it is overpriced, but it is a little girl's dream. We've been to GWL 3 times, but we decided to make the spa a treat for one time deal for my daughter's birthday and she knows the spa is only for special treats, not for every time we go to GWL. So while this is not a dream vacation for myself, it is a fantastic place for the kids, and if the kids are happy it makes me happy to take them there. It is a place where you can have a ton of fun on the water slides with your kids!

This is just such an ideal location for multi-generational stays or for grandparents to take grandchildren!!!!! As a "nana" is fabulous to have this place where all can enjoy. I appreciate the paw passes so $$$ isn't constantly coming out of the wallet. The kids can see what they've received and what they can still do! I appreciate the food not being standard amusement park food!! Rooms are very family friendly and love, love the wristband key/charge set-up. Only picky negatives were quality of magician show, slow service at buffet restaurant for drinks and bills. Will definitely return!!!
