This was our first visit to Villa Grille. We arrived at 5 p.m. on a Saturday, and their were only a few open tables in this relatively small, but adequate space. We were immediately greeted by the hostess who was cheerful and welcoming. Our waitress Joni was great.
Based on a review I had read elsewhere, we ordered the 12" Blanco flatbread as an appetizer, which I would only recommend for a party of 4 or more as we took most of it home. We were very impressed with the flatbread. Great flavor and topped generously with fresh toppings. The folks at villa grille don't want you to refer to their flatbreads as pizza, but we will definately be going back to the villa grille next time we feel like going out for pizza.
For our entrees, we both had burgers, which according to the menu are "fresh, premium, hand-made patties cooked to juicy perfection." I had the Big Shot Louie burger and my wife had a build your own burger with grilled onions and American cheese. Both came with fries. Neither lived up to the menu description and are the reason for my 3 star rating (which I would have given 3.5 if I could). After having a great flatbread made with fresh ingredients, we were very dissapointed to get the run-of-the-mill food service grade burgers. They were thin, dry and tasteless. I know burgers are not their 'specialty' but a big, juicy burger made from fresh beef would take my rating from a 3 to a 5.
Our bill for all of the above, plus a few beers was $40.
