“Great family place and for singles too”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2009

After a windy drive through the gorge from Asheville NC 25 miles I totally enjoyed my time at Chimney Rock. What a thrill to climb stairs to the top and then take an elevator back to my car. You can do the elevator both ways. The views were stupendous. Lake Lure is in the distance. It was worth $14.00 to hike on the trails. I hike alone but there were plenty of people around. The trails are well maintained. Great place for fun.

“Great views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2009

We enjoyed going up Chimney Rock. The views are spectacular and we had a lot of fun going down the trails. We went in June. It was really neat to see so much of the area from atop the mountain. You can really see all of Lake Lure which the views were incredible. We would highly recommend going here if you are in the area and we would definately go back.

“Breathtaking Views found in every direction!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2009

This park is absolutely fantastic. The views are breathtaking and awe inspiring. It is easily accessable by elevator and the steps leading to the chimney are safe, and easy to climb. Any difficulty is well worth the effort when you look out over the 75 mile view. Words are hard to find to describe the view. I reccommend you go see for yourself!

“Really fun place to go and dog friendly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 6, 2009

Chimney rock park is a great place to go. You can even bring your dogs but you'll have to climb all the way to the top and back down because dogs are not allowed in the elevator. It has beautiful views of Lake Lure. Make sure you make time to spend the day there because they have great hiking trails. One is to Hickory Nut Falls which was in the movie Last of the Mohicans. About 25 minutes in and out of that trail. There are also other trails that go higher up so you can look down on chimney rock.
