“The best event ever!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2010

My family and friends recently celebrated a special family event at Esmeralda. This lovely Inn is beautiful, peaceful, and serene and squeaky clean. The location is perfect, the owners are so nice and hospitable, the desk associate on duty had plenty of information to give if needed. I travel all the time with my job so I know nice places and I notice everything.I would recommend this lovely property to anyone looking for a getaway or even a corporate event. Lots of team building options in the area like rafting, hiking and climbing.
Love the front porch and the fountains. This would be a fabulous place for a lovely intimate wedding. I will return to this wonderful place one day.Karen Creighton, Director of Sales and Marketing-Ocean Creek Resort and Conference Center-Myrtle Beach, SC

When we arrived, the front desk personnel was very nice. Our room was very comfortable, and spacious. Very clean, and the bed was so nice.

I would stay here again.

Restaurant was just okay.

Explore this remodeled wonder with up to date amenities, internet cable tv and welcoming new owners. The Esmeralda is not only beautiful but it is clean, friendly and accommodating. The foyer floor is the floor Patrick Swayze danced on in his most sexy role in the move Dirty Dancing.

The rooms are pretty small but comfortable, linens soft and towels are plush. The beds are too soft for my liking but fine for a okay night sleep. This area is for complete relaxation. The small town closes up early. There is no night life or restaurants to speak of except Parise's which is located in the hotel. You have to travel into Asheville for all those perks.

If you want to get away from civilization than this is place to be when you are in Chimney Rock. Don't stay any where else for you won't be happy . Thank you Marty for your compassion and patience. Sharon you are a pleasure to talk with. Doug and Adle best of luck and keep smiling. We will be back on our next visit

Thank you for your kind review. Relaxation is what we're all about! Our close proximity to Asheville, and even Greenville, SC makes this a great base for exploring the area - then come back and listen to the river. We love our floor! It's always fun, telling people about it's history. Come back for the Dirty Dancing Festival September 17-18th. The whole area is celebrating! It was a pleasure having you with us. I enjoyed our conversations! Come back soon.

My wife and I recently stayed there for our wedding night. The staff was wonderful, even leaving a key for us since we arrived after the desk closed. Although there are only around 15 rooms in the whole place, the building is very spacious and beautifully decorated. As a result of the small size, the staff and other guests were very friendly. We also ordered a bottle of Chardonnay and chocolate covered strawberries which were wonderful. They have courtesy refrigerators and even a pantry for guests to use. The meal in the restaurant the next morning was wonderful - try the shrimp grits! Great experience--we look forward to going back there soon!

The room was small. The bathroom was tiny. You have to ask for ice. There is no place to run get it on your own. The bed was comfortable though. I did enjoy opening the windows and feeling the cool breeze and hearing the water from the stream across the street. My husband treated me by purchasing a massage with our reservation, but when we got there we were told we had to go to another hotel to get the massage ,which I did and the massage by Mary was great, but we were under the impression that the massage would be given at the Esmeralda. Overall: It's a nice place to stay IF they only charged approx. $100.00 per night, but not worth $165.00 and up!

Thank you for taking the tiem to write a review. We are constantly learning from our guests! Our rooms are not huge, but that's part of their charm! As a result, we partner with the spas in the area to accommodate guests' requests for massages. I'm sorry it wasn't explained to you in advance. Ice makers are noisy, so we prefer to personally deliver ice for our guests. We appreciate your comments and hope you'll come and stay with us again.

The Esmeralda is so clean and friendly that I felt like I was staying with friends rather than in a hotel! The views from our room were amazing, and the hotel was well located for the surrounding area of Chimney Rock and Asheville. We also liked hanging out in the games room on a rainy day -- lots to do and very comfortable. I would recommend the Esmeralda to families as well as couples. The staff and owners should be very proud of the jobs that they are doing!!

Thank you! We are in a perfect spot for visiting the Hickory Nut Gorge and Asheville. I'm glad you enjoyed the game room as this is a new addition to the Inn. When our new owners took over, they brought new toys! It's a great place for families to spend the evening. We hope you visit again soon.

The wife & myself had our grandson, age 6 with us to view the area. (Chimney Rock Park, along with a swim in Lake Lure-He loved the sites. He called the Esmeralda Inn
paradise. We had a great time in the very large game room. We played air hockey, pool, checkers & foose ball. The wife told the owner the mattress was like sleeping on a cloud. I think it was one of the most restfull nights I've had in years. We enjoyed the grounds that were as beautiful as the building. A short distance from the village kept us away from the crowds & noise. Great experience in all ways!!!! Thanks- Don & Donna Deets (& Connor Denaux)
