we stayed in the new hotel wing this last visit and I have to say it was absolutely stunning, almost reminded me of the Aria in Vegas. Paula Deans was great. And soon A new food court and buffet close by accross the beautiful river that runs between casino and hotel connected by a skybridge. New machines coming and the scenery is awesome. HD flat screen television and computer hookup and once the Spa opens this will be a fantastic get away in the south. On the down side, The machines (slots) are some of the tightest you will find east of Las Vegas. I asked several staff and they echoed my feelings as many other guest have also stated, so it can be fun but it goes fast. The table games are still using electronic playing card displays, i do not play the tables for that reason. You can drink at the casino but unlike Vegas they are not free even if you are spending hundreds at the machines or tables, the soda is free (tip always) the buffet (fresh Market) is poor and you see the same things and if you get there late do not expect the food to be fresh. Not as pricey as Vegas but still the quality is not there, perhaps when they relocate it near the new food court.-maybe you do not think about these things but at Paula Deans the chefs make fresh omelettes that you design (cool) and the chefs like to talk which is fun and cool as well, but they talk over your food, and that is not cool. so just smile when they are doing what they do. Near the Hotel there is a place where you can get a nice and not expensive helecopter ride around the hills, I did this and it was great . The Cherokee Indians put on a great show as well called 'Into these hills' . Over all for a resort it is awesome on the way to become legendary, as a casino, its big ,but do not hold out hope you are going to win big, just expect to make a donation that will build a nice resort to come stay at. One more thing, the new concert venue is fabulous and sure to attrack the bigger names in music, etc so put that on your things to do list. What it does lack is a business center, and a larger gym but I understand that is in the works as well.
