My husband and I have stayed at Harrah's Cherokee several times in the last 5 years, and have always enjoyed our stays. We had not visited in over a year, and were curious to see the new tower and casino section. We stayed 2 weeks ago, and got a room in the new Creek Tower. It was spacious and clean smelling, no traces of smoke at all, as you can sometimes catch a whiff of in the older sections. The bed was super comfortable, and the bathroom was large, with a nice glass spa style shower. I did have a problem with the bath amenities, however.
First, that fig fragrance is not appealing at all, The hotel should invest in some nicer smelling bath products, like the line they have at Caesars in Atlantic City. Secondly, you should never put LOTION with the shampoo in the shower. The two bottles were identicle, except one was blue and the other one white, and if I hadn't read the label of the white bottle, I would have used the lotion on my hair, thinking it was conditioner, which is what I would expect to find there. That could have really ruined my morning.
Other than that, our stay was fun, and we will be returning next month. I had some luck in the casino the first night, cashing out a nice amount, but we played it back the next day. We earned enough points to eat for free at the buffet for two nights, where we found the food choices to be plenitful, and tasty. We had no desire to try Paula Deens restaurant.
I have always had a comp stay at Harrah's, and lots of nice little extra comps as well, like food vouchers and free play coupons. No, it's not Atlantic City or Vegas, but the staff is always nice, the hotel clean, and you can't beat the location, where there are things to do other than gamble.
