“You get what you pay for....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2015

It's a very small place with a few animals. It's definitely a $5 worth Zoo trip.. Pretty much you pay your money then wander around by yourself. The animals aren't very lively but at least you get to see large bears relatively close without fear of them being too close and again, it's only $5.

“Worth the price and more”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2015

We always stop and see the bears at the Cherokee Beer Zoo. The owner is one of the most friendly guys I have ever met. Admission is only $5.00 for adults and 3 and under are free. The owner advised us that some of the animals were not available due to the cold weather ( now if he really didn't care about these animals don't you think they would have been displayed for the tourists to see.) The bears are great. They are very healthy looking and the enclosures are kept spotless. For a $1 a tray of food you can feed the bears and they seem to enjoy it as much as we did. If you ever watch the owner interact with this animals you will see that he loves them. Especially the baby bear which he treats like his baby.

If this guy really was as bad as everyone tries to make him out to be he would charge a lot more and care a lot less.

“Such a horribly sad place...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 18, 2015

PETA should be all over this place. The admission was $5 per person and the crown jewel of the tiny dirty place is the bear cub that is exploited to take a picture with for $20 and fed baby formula while housed in a dog crate. Then for $1 you can buy white bread, Apple slices, and lettuce (totally an inappropriate treat for these critters) to throw down at the begging bears into the tiny 10 X 10 concrete boxes that the poor bears live in on concrete with no cover and look very dejected. Our 2 yo was even upset by this! Total "Zoo" was made up of 10 bears and the cub and then a small enclosure with about a dozen goats. There were three monkey enclosures without monkeys- no signs anywhere or info about them being on vacation in FL per the gentleman- he was very nice- working there. There was also an enclosure for some other MIA critter- dead? In FL? Escaped? I pray it wasn't the tiger from their website as the cage was a glorified dog run. Absolute nightmare- I pray those bears aren't there full time- so sad.

“Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2015

They actually had more animals than I thought they would have. Many of course native to the area plus some others. Price was fair for the size of the Zoo. Located on the main road in downtown Cherokee. If you have kids they always love a Zoo no matter the size.
