“Great Displays/ Info for GSMNP”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2013

No matter how crowded this visitor center looks, I highly recommend that all visitors to GSMNP stop here first. There are great displays which show the history and wildlife of the area before the park. After seeing this I suggest stopping buy the gift shop and buying a topographic trail map if you plan on hiking. If you go on the short trails around the center chances are you meet see an elk!

“Great Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

This was our first stop in our GSMNP adventure. Right off the bat we saw an elk in the park just eating and enjoying the morning. The place is at a very good location, at the foot of one mountain, so serene and beautiful. There was a giant oak tree starting to change it's color to red but everything else was still green last weekend. Restrooms were clean. The museum itself was very nice and a lot of information available. My kids were studying about the Cherokee Indians in class and was very happy to see several artifacts, pictures and videos. There is a park behind the museum where you can walk and see old structures from the indian tribe. Staff were all very friendly and ready to assist your every need.

“Great place to see how the settlers lived.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2013

A great place to see the history of our country and how people lived. A neat picture of a farm without all the luxuries of today.. I think it is cool that they still have chickens and gardens that produce things we still use today. It's a great place to see the river. The farm is not pet friendly but there is a river trail that is wonderful! There are benches along the trail and access to the river bank where you can skip rocks and see the wildlife. If you visit in the late afternoon you may be blessed to see the elk in the field. Wow what a site. Pictures don't do it justice. A nice visitor center and clean restrooms.

“Must stop if first time to Great Smokies”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

It was your typical NP visitor's center with a model farm. Can't see why so many rated it a 5. But like any other NP visitor's center, this should be your first stop.

“Shopping for our grandbaby a gift”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2013

This is a good place to get maps and information about the Smoky Mountains National Park and if you do purchase a gift or something for yourself a portion of the sale goes right back into the park. It is a little conjested at times, but it is a nice place for info and shopping.
