“History Buff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2013

I thought this museum was excellent in telling the stories and past of the Cherokees. My great grandmother was Cherokee and it was heart wrenching to view the Trail of Tears. I was unaware that the Cherokee did not live in teepees but built houses. The gift shop had an excellent selection of Cherokee merchandise. I bought several Christmas ornaments as souvenirs.

“Well worth the $10 entrance fee.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013

It was very informative. Even little children would like it. A lot of information done in a small area. It is an example of what a museum should be like.

“Enjoyed the more recent history”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

While I didn't really enjoy the start of the museum (video and early artefacts), it then got interesting around the time the British started trading with the Indians. The Cherokee's visit to London to meet King George III in the 1700s was probably the most interesting part of it, as it was highly unusual in those days for native Americans to travel to another continent on vacation!

“Pretty interesting... a little overwhelming”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2013 credit card Amex Card Member Review

We found the first part of the museum pretty interesting though after about an hour of lots of reading and listening, we then zoomed pretty quickly through the second half of the exhibits (which seemed to be a lot of repeat of the first half?). Lots of info!

“Museum of the Cherokee Indian”

The tour of the museum begins with an information film. The creation story and other elements are interesting and well presented. The museum's exhibits are well layout and interesting to all ages. The natural balance between animals and plants is impossible to miss.
