4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 29, 2012

Loved this place! Nothing like sitting on the balcony and watching the river run by! Not a "high class" place but very comfortable, clean and friendly. Staff was willing to help with directions and places to eat. I highly reccomend for a get a way from it all trip!

As I said in the title, this is not a luxury site but the fact that it sits right on the river made for a great stay. We arrived very late but there were instructions for us to follow and we had no problem. It had what we needed for a short stay working at the local hospital. It's also walking distance to two of our favorite places places to eat - check out Peter's Pancakes while you're down that way. The Qualla Arts and Crafts center is also close by and is a great place to check out high quality, authentic work from local artisans. Price is right and view is great!

Clean but basic. The real draw is the river right outside your balcony. Watch the ducks and tubers float on by as you unwind on the balcony. Great location within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. I recommend eating at Paul's which is just across the street. Also go to Qualla Arts and Crafts for authentic Indian handcrafted items.

Got a second story room, had been recently refurbished, non-smoking and it actually did smell like a non-smoking room.. no one had polluted it yet. Had two double beds, balcony overlooks a river and a tenting campground on the opposite bank. Drive-up parking in front is hazardous -- may opt to park across the street and take the chance with traffic to walk over to the motel. Very steep outside metal steps, note they are uneven, to get up to second story rooms. TV remote control batteries were dead. Very good, no excellent, lighting in the bathroom considering this is supposed to be a lower rate motel. Breakfast is not offered here. Go down the road to Paul's. or maybe it was called Peter's for pancakes.

Room Tip: Ask for a second story room if you can do the steep outside steps to get there. My understanding is...

I chose this hotel based on reviews from Tripadvisor, and the reviews were talking about being clean, quite, friendly and reasonable price. First, my room is a non-smoking one, but we couldn't even breath comfortably with the strong smell of smoke in the room; second, there were pleasant river flow sound out of the balcony, but the noise from 441 was much louder; third, I reserved a king suite, but was not told at reservation that the room didn't have a balcony, and since the balcony was the main reason for me to book this hotel, I asked the lady at front desk to change a room if possible, the lady did that, switched me from king suite to a two doubles, but couldn't provide me with a room bill receipt except for the credit card receipt; and last, not happy to pay about $100 for a Wednesday night stay, not worth the money.

We booked this hotel for our romantic weekend trip because the rooms at Harrah's were full and we are so glad they were. The room including bathroom were spotless. The bed was so comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. The sound of the river rushing by at night with the sliding glass doors open for both sound and breeze was great. We loved sitting on the balcony at night and listening to the river and watching the moon rise over the trees. My husband loved that he could fly fish right outside our room and I loved that I could watch him and read my book on the balcony at the same time. The hotel was convenient to Harrah's so we got to play the slots (we actually won enough to pay for our stay and buy new tires when we got home - yippee) We like this little motel so much that we will probably not stay at Harrah's again and instead stay here.......

Our room was large, very clean and comfortable. The free wi-fi came in handy while we passed time sitting on our balcony over the river. The shower was excellent! Would recommend this motel, it is great value for money.
