I stayed at the Sheraton for 1 night b/c I was flying into Charlotte airport in the evening and not connecting till the next day. Shuttle service picked me up at the airport/dropped me off the following morning. The hotel was very recently renovated. In fact, there was still some painting going on. Room was very nice, pretty spacious for an airport hotel. I got the hotel for 45$/night on Priceline.

Our plane was overcrowded and they needed volunteers to take another flight, so we volunteered in exchange for a flight the next day, food passes, a free hotel stay and $$ towards our next ticket.

The airline booked us at this hotel. It was very clean and comfortable and spacious (both the hotel and our room). The lady who initially checked us in definitely left something to be desired (she was rude) but everyone else was really friendly. The food at their restaurant in the main lobby was decent enough, a bit pricey for it's quality but it was free with our passes so I didn't mind. Our alcoholic drinks weren't covered by the passes but they were good drink prices and the bartender was nice and funny. The pool area looked nice and if we weren't so tired we would have gone swimming. Their breakfast in the morning had a good variety and was still warm. The shuttle was free to and from the airport and both our drivers were very friendly. I'm not sure what their prices are but if they are reasonable I would stay here again.

This is a Sheraton, but perhaps Sheratons have gone the way of Ramadas - outdated. They are doing much-needed construction on the inside of this hotel, but unless they are re-doing the rooms, I don't know how much it will help. They are re-doing their lobby and lots of other extras-- but I found that the room was smoking (and not at all what I was requesting) and they couldn't move me and forgot to send the guy up with the fogging machine (to take the smoke smell out). For this I did get about $20 off my dinner in the "restaurant" in the hotel lobby. And even though there was a whole room for the restaurant, which didn't seem under construction, they had everyone out in the lobby - poorly lit and with a very heavy perfume smell that permeated the whole lobby (it was the same the next day so I don't assume it was one person's fault but to cover over other smells). The food was bad. There were no restaurants within walking distance (not a great area). The nice thing (and only nice thing in my opinion) was the service/people. I felt bad that this was all they had to work with in giving travelers a good experience. Quite a challenge. My advice - Stay downtown - it's not that far from the airport.

The Sheraton Charlotte Airport is a great hotel very convenient to the airport. I have stayed in this hotel several times when I have to fly out of CLT, and have yet to have a bad experience. The staff is friendly, the rooms are nice, and it is only a five minute shuttle ride to the airport. The hotel is somewhat pricey for the quality of hotel that it is, but its proximity to the airport is well worth it.
