I don't think the people who said this place was great and I are talking about the same place. The only good thing about it are the nice ladies who work at the front desk. Other than that, it is run down. The bathroom of the first room we were given was so hairy that I called to ask for another room. Well, that bathroom had hair too; just less of it. The carpets are stained, the furniture in the room sticky, bedspreads and curtains look like they've been around since the 70's. Yuck.

We had to stay there 'cause that's where US Airways put us up. It figures. Never flying US "Scareways" again.

My father was stranded in Charlotte airport late Sunday night. All flights were canceled because of bad weather and he was unable to make a connection to his destination. He was re-booked to leave late at night the following day. US Airways just dumped the 73 year old man at a strange city providing no help or accommodations: "thanks for flying with us" type deal. Most hotels either canceled their shuttle service or had no availability. I was able to book a room for him at Ramada that was still running a shuttle. Dad has a poor eye sight so he managed to miss the bus twice, even though the driver got out of the bus and tried to locate him on the second trip. Needless to say, being in the wind and in the cold for more than 1.5 hours made him extremely anxious and distressed. I tried to coordinate on the phone from Texas. I must have called the hotel a thousand times and, being very anxious myself came across as... let's just say a little intense. The staff handled this extremely well and on the third trip the driver had my father's cell phone number, got out of the bus again, called him, found him, and brought him in.
Thank you Whitney, thank you Linda, and everyone else we spoke with! I'm truly at a loss for words to express my appreciation.

This was one of the dirtiest, shabbiest hotels I've ever stayed in, and I simply had to post this warning to other travelers to stay away. (I was here for one night only because United Air Lines put a group of us up here after a flight delay caused us to miss our late-night connections.) The room was truly disgusting - stains everywhere, a mildewy smell, little hairs embedded in the towels and blankets, peeling paint, heater that barely worked, furniture that looked worse than what you'd see sitting in a roadside trash pile.

The overall hotel has a sad, depressing air of neglect and decay, and probably should simply be torn down so somebody can start from scratch. Chilling.

We had to interrupt our motor home trip around the country to attend a wedding in Hawaii. We were told by several people to contact the Ramada Airport & Conference Center for a place to park our motor home - for free. We spent two nights at the hotel getting the motor home ready for our departure (we were to be gone over two weeks). During the two nights we stayed there, I observed the night watchman check each and ever vehicle parked in the lot once every hour without fail - I was impressed! At around 3 am on the second day, I went out to speak with the night watchman and found him to be very professional.
Although I did not ask, I got the distinct feeling that there was no obligation to have spent the night in the hotel for the same great convenience of having a secure place to park our motor home at no charge. No one ever said that the free parking is only if you stay in the hotel.
As a side note, we were very pleased with the quality of the room.
We highly recommend this hotel.
