I was a little nervous when I saw that my Priceline bid was accepted by a Holiday Inn, having had a negative experience at a Holiday Inn in another state. When we arrived, the front desk clerk was courteous and efficient, changing the room from queen smoking to two double beds, non-smoking. The room itself was spacious and scrupulously clean, and everything was there that should have been. The beds were comfortable and there were a variety of pillows, including a flat one, which was great since I'd forgotten the pillow I usually travel with. The hotel was quiet, in fact, I was afraid we were the ones doing the disturbing, as we came in late from a concert. I would definitely stay at this property again.

My daughter and stayed here for 2 nights while attending a conference. We both requested nonsmoking rooms. My room was a queen executive with a sofabed, microwave and a small refridgerator. Unfortunately, my daughter's room was a smoking room and it was REALLY smelly. She asked for another room but coudln't get one. She asked for the room to treated for the odor (which I've done at other hotels) but the front desk said they had nothing to offer. The hotel was full but it was quiet. Breakfast was included, a below average buffet. The location is good, minutes from I-85, UNCC and lots of restaurants and shopping.
I really had no complaints about my room or the service at this hotel bit I would probably not stay there again. There are other properties in the same area tha are newer and cheaper.

Vehicle broken into four spaces from front door. No security. Police state this is regular occurence. No appology from manager. Would not even call police for me. Stated they had no responsibilty.

In 2004, my review said that there was "room for improvement."
I have stayed at this hotel repeatedly since Priceline consistently provided this property at an embarassingly low price.
I am pleased to report that it does appear that the rooms have been redone and the much of the old staff has been replaced with an upbeat, motivated group. While I would not rate this hotel as excellent, it was certainly comfortable and problem-free. I do applaud the management for the changes and I would not write this hotel off for a future stay--even at regular internet rates.
