Spent 4 nights and had a good stay. Since this is Hilton, I do expect a little better than good. The beds were the best thing, very good sleep and little noise. The TV was huge and was very nice. The bathroom was very small, you had to close the door if you sat on the toilet that small. The towels were Hilton quality and the bottle water was something that came in handy. Our floor's ice machine was broke so going to another floor was not too big of a deal. Dolly's were only offered if you used the bellhops. I usually tote more than two bags and a dolly is nice but no can do without a tip. Front desk was nice and everyone was overall nice. I have stayed in the Courtyard across the street and I thought they were better and cheaper.

  • Liked — Beds and towels
  • Disliked — Pool was tiny, ice machine broke

The Hilton staff were very friendly and I was impressed with the room I even got to check in early. I stayed on the fourth floor and I had a view of the boardwalk (very nice). About and hour in the room this horrible sound came from outside, it was this huge A/C unit starting up it sounded like an airplane flying by. I can only imagine what it would sound like if I were on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd floor. The room A/C unit was ok still very loud when it came on, but it seems where ever I go I am freezing and I always turn off the A/C. It was totally opposite with this place. When I woke up in the morning it was 67 degrees and I was still hot. Also, as I am writing this I am being charged for internet use. I believe when I pay almost $200 for a hotel room for one night I shouldn't be charged for "free" internet. If you want to stay at a Hilton you should work in a fortune 500 company, you had to have a key to get past the 10th floor...I bet there A/C doesn't sound like it breaking every time it starts up.

  • Liked — Look of the room
  • Disliked — The sounds that the room made. Loud A/C unit

Very nice hotel. Located within walking distance to shopping and good restaurants. The staff was both friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well maintained. We had a very comfortable stay. We would definitely would stay again.

My best friend and I stayed at the Hilton University Place for 3 nights for the ACC Tournament. The hotel is located in an office park/shopping area near UNC-Charlotte and about a 10 to 15 minute drive from "Uptown" Charlotte.

The hotel has been recently renovated (with some finishing touches still going on in the lobby). The rooms had new, modern furntiure, new mattresses, quality linens, flat panel TV's, and a work desk with lots of outlets. The modern appearance continued in the bathroom with the ____ sink. Our room was on the back side of the hotel with a view of the side of the shopping center and the lake next to another shopping center.

The check-in process was efficient and we were able to obtain our room at 11AM on a Thursday. Check out was similarly easy with the express check-out available.

We did not try out the restaurants or room service and did not get a chance to use the fitness center or meeting rooms. However, they appeared to be what you would expect for a mid to upper level hotel. The convenience store just off the lobby had the usual gifts/snacks and, after paying ridiculous prices at the Bobcats Arena for 4 days, the gift shop's prices were reasonable ($2 for bottled water/20 oz. soda vs. $4 at the games).

I'm a neat freak when it comes to cleanliness and I must commend this hotel. There were no signs of disrepair or dirt anywhere. The linens were new, the towels were new, and the cleaning crew appeared to do an excellent job.

I will likely use this hotel whenever I'm in Charlotte for business or pleasure as you do not have to deal with many of the downtown issues (especially parking) and the cost was much less than the downtown counterparts.

I stayed here for a seminar. There was construction taking place at the hotel, but it was not noisy or disruptive. One day the tile was being replaced in the lobby and you had to walk around yellow tapes, etc. but it was not a big deal.
There were a number of things that were especially good about this property--free wireless was one. I greatly apprerciated the free wireless, but the service was a bit problematic. I had a number of drops while using it but I was still grateful for it.
The best t hing about this place is the restaurant. The food was above par--the kitchen here really knows what they are doing. I had multiple meals in the on-site restaurant, room service, as well as meals served for the seminar and all were exceptional.
The rooms appear to have been recently upgraded and the style is very modern. The look is attractive though the ceramic bowl sink which sits on the bathroom counter is a bit difficult to use as the faucet sits so close to the bowl.
The water pressure was good and the bathroom amenties were crabtree and evelyn.
I was able to work easily in the room and appreciated the large desk and the large flatscreen television.
The hotel is adjacent to the University Place shopping district and there are places within walking distance to eat and shop. There were some rough looking fellows wandering around this neighborhood which is why I ate most evening meals in the hotel. I did walk to the nearby Talbots outlet one afternoon and I had sushi at the Sushi 101 nearby.
There is a rental carcounter in the hotel and I inquired about renting a car there an dropping it at the airport but they tack on a fifty dollar fee for doing that so it was not worth it. I stored my bags when I checked out and went to the shopping center on my last day there. I asked the bellman to call a cab for me but instead he directed me to a limo service. I rode in an SUV to the airport for forty dollars. the cab fare there had ben thirty-five dollars.
Next time I will rent a car.
