I selected this hotel as it was much less expensive than others near the Charlotte Airport and they had an airport shuttle. It wasn't special, but it was very quiet, which was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was walking distance to a couple of restaurants. The airport shuttle driver offered to drive me to a restaurant because it was raining, which I accepted.

Upon arriving to the hotel, my husband and I were early for check in. The reservationist took the task of finding a clean room, I did not feel well and needed to rest. Within 30 minutes, we had a room and was able to rest. To me the person went out of their way to make it happen. She could have made us wait for 4hrs to check in.

My wife, 6-yr old daughter and I staued here one night on our way to Hilton Head, SC. Check-in went smoothly and staff was friendly and helpful.

We opted for a room with a queen bed and pull-out sofa. When we opened the pull-out ,it hadn't been given clean linen...sheets were visibly dirty with hair and and popcorn. When I called the front desk nobody answered so I went down in person to complain. Only one person was on the desk at 9PM, she was busy with two check-ins, so may daughter had to wait about 20min while I got clean bedding. I took them up to the room and changed the bed myself.

I agree with comments from others re mildew smell as noticed this too. This hotel has the potential to be nice but it has been neglected and requires allot of maintenance. Carpets in public areas are dirty and stained. Paint on walls is dirty. There is a hall table in the lobby but one of the two lamps was burned out. We used the outside pool in the evening and 4 of the 7 lanterns were burned out. The coping around the pool is cracked and needs repair. Continental breakfast was adequate. Check-out was fine.

I used tripadvisor to find this hotel and the other reviews lived up to the hype. It looks like the rooms have gone thru recent renovations with nice furniture, new carpet and comfortable beds. Although the check in went smooth I can't say the front desk person was what I would consider very welcoming. Also the internet is painfully slow. The room also had a slight mildew smell but I got used to it quick. Other than that however the hotel is very nice, close to the airport and offer to let you park your car for $5 a day. For $67 this was a great stay.
