My room on the 11th floor was clean and comfortable. The bed, linens and pillows were typical for a Crowne Plaza, slightly better than Holiday Inn/Holiday Inn Express. The building itself is older probably built in the early 1970's but is in good condition. There is fresh paint on the walls, new hotel grade carpet, granite and tile in the bathroom. AC unit worked fine with no problems.
Iron and ironing board were of good quality and functioned well. Two complimentary bottled waters and Kuerig single serve coffee maker with choices of Green Mountain Coffee or Celestial Seasonings Tea were available in room.
The staff was very friendly and helpful and is by-far the best part of this hotel. CK, Catherine, Mendez, Tiffany, Linda, Hyatt, Ricky and many other staff were all very eager to assist me with any needs I had during my stay. They all greeted me by name each time I saw them and always asked if everything was ok in my room. I noticed that other guests received the same wonderful customer service that I experienced during my stay.
The fitness center is adequate with strength and cardio equipment. However, the cardio machines are a little dated, but functional.
AAA Club rate at the time was $98.00/night. I believe this is a great rate for the convenient location to downtown.
This hotel does have a restaurant and bar. The food was tasty and of good quality. French Dip Sandwich and fries was $9, bowl of yogurt with granola and fruit was also $9. Several local and chain restaurants are within a couple of blocks of the hotel as well.
