This Courtyard is below par.
The front desk is a real problem. The staff definitely makes you feel that you are out of line to seek any service at all.
But the real disaster was the $12 breakfast. I had not realized that the free breakfast disappeared, so like a sucker (and with no area alternatives nearby or evident), I plunked down the $12 for breakfast for me and my teenage son (this was a college trip).
Once we got into the breakfast buffet, it was Soviet. Of the three or four items that were ostensibly being served: as I recall, eggs, bacon, sausage, and biscuits with gravy. Only the biscuts and gravy were even available. I went for that, but because the Courtyard had left the metal serving spoon on the burner, I was met with a burn.
Once I managed to put the biscuit and sausage on my plate, I was interested in seeing whether any more service items would be put out. Eventually a woman brought out a plate of bacon; there were six guests waiting at the Soviet food buffet and they cleaned the plate before I could even maneuver over there.
In short, I paid $12 for about 15% of what ostensibly they put out for breakfast. Breakfast was a total disaster.
And there was not enough seating for breakfast, so we sat on a couch with a low-level couch tray as our makeshift table.
I ponied up $200 and left Charlotte a day early, rather than face any more time at this Courtyard. Easily the worst Courtyard experience in a decade. And the staff is indifferent.
