My friend and I stayed here on our way back home to NJ from New Orleans. We had booked ahead of time on choicehotels.com, since it seemed like a good halfway point and I've always had good experiences at Comfort Inns. We got there kind of late, because of traffic, I think it was around 10:45pm. We were completely exhausted and couldn't wait to check in and get to sleep. Well we walked up to the front door and it was locked and there was a note that said, be back in a few minutes. We didn't know when the note was put there, but there was no one around so we had no choice but to wait. After about 10 minutes we decided to drive down the road to a fast food drive-thru and get something to eat. By the time we got back, the note was gone and someone was there to check us in. Check in went ok, but I was a little disppointed with the room. We had to carry our luggage up the steps to the second floor because we were informed that there's no elevator and there were no rooms available on the first floor. We got to the room and it was sooo hot. We cranked up the a.c. but I don't think it was working right because it never got cool, not even by the next morning. The room was very dingy and didn't seem clean at all. We were both afraid to use the shower- it was just a stall with a weird seat in it that didn't look clean either. So neither of us showered there! I was up half the night because of the heat and the overall "skeevy" feeling I got from the place and the guy who checked us in. Also, the main parking lot was full, except for handicapped spots so we had to park around the corner and lug our stuff to the front door. Not fun. We couldn't wait to get out of there the next morning, so I can't comment on the free breakfast - we didn't have any! I would not recommend this place!

My daughter and I stayed here for her Cheerleader Competition. The lobby was nice and well decorated. We were able check in early and the rooms were nice and spacious for two people. We booked a double bed room and the view overlooked the parking lot. They offered a hot buffet style breakfast each morning with a nice seating area. The hotel was clean and had two elevators. Our room was on a top floor and fairly quiet. The beds were extremely comfortable and they offered plenty of space to put your belongings, clothes, etc. The bathroom was also sizeble for your needs. They did not have, however, an indoor or outdoor pool. You also would need a car to travel to some of the local restaurants, shops, and grocery stores. I would definately stay there again.

Aug 26, 2007 | Trip type: Family

My family and I booked a room at this hotel 2 days prior to arriving. Upon arrival, we were already disappointed. First of all, there was a window busted out on one of the guest rooms on the bottom floor. There appeared to be a piece of cardboard taped in the place of the window. This immediately made us feel unsafe and skeptical of the area. However, we proceeded to check in. Next, my husband had problems with the lady at the front desk. She was quite rude and had a bad attitude. We then proceeded to our room. Our room was on the second floor, and was supposed to be non-smoking. As soon as we got up the stairs, there was a cloud of cigarette smoke that was everlasting. Upon entering our room, it too smelled of smoke. Furthermore, the air conditioning hadn't been turned in awhile; our room must've been around 90 degrees. We turned on the A/C, but it was taking forever to even feel remotely cool on the opposite side of the room. I then proceeded to the bathroom. The main concern about it was the non-slip mat in the bathtub. It was highly soiled and non-sanitary. I then went down the hall to get some ice. As I walked down the smoke saturated hall, I made it to the ice machine. To my surprise, it was out of ice. It gave me about 3 tablespoons of ice and then stopped completely. I gave up and returned to the room. My husband and I decided we'd had enough. We knew that this hotel was not even remotely worth half of the 60 dollars per night we were paying. We called the front desk and asked for a refund, which was given in full. So on the plus side, full refunds are given at this hotel easily. We left and went to a much nicer hotel!
