Second Review!! Dark rooms; 85 degrees (after about 7 or 8 hours of 55 degree AC an employee came to fix the system); not enough towels and wash clothes for the number of people in the room; way too small bathroom; bugs, etc.

NOW they have charged us $800 for a cracked window that was cracked when we arrived!!! I freaked out over the window when we first arrived. We were on the 12th floor! I would not let any of my family get near that window which they gave me a hard time about. We assumed that the management knew about the window and since we would only be in the room to sleep and a short time in the morning before we left we didn't say anything to them. We also had other things on our minds...the reason we were in Charlotte, the hot room, getting enough towels, how far we were from uptown. My husband has called several times and as of right now the general manager has not returned any of his call.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!! You will be better served staying outside of the uptown area and taking a cab in!

I went with some family and friends to Charlotte to watch the WVU bowl game this past year. The Blake Hotel seemed to be a good choice because of it's location. I was pretty much pleased with the Blake.

The hotel, room, and hallways were all clean. The staff was friendly and not up in your face at all times. The room had a nice flat screen tv, two comfortable queen sized beds and a pretty good view of Charlotte.

The bathroom was perfectly fine. Plenty of thick towels, washclothes and etc. The shower kind of has a weird glass door that doesn't shut all the way, but hey no big deal right?

All in All the Blake seems a pretty solid hotel. It does have some problems though. When I checked in, along with everyone else we talked to the rooms were extremely too hot. Everyone had to cut the air on high and it took quite a while for the room to be comfortable. On the 8th floor we could not find an ice machine. Although a short trip to the 7th floor solved the problem.

The service stand does sell soda, juice, snack food and etc., but it would of been nice if they sold painpills, newspapers and things of that nature.

The staff shuddled us out to the Stadium the day of the game (For Free) which was nice and tried to make the stay as nice as possible.

The Blake is as I mentioned before is a "good" hotel, I am the type of traveler that isn't horribly picky if it is something I can fix and try to be a jerk about things. Bah this hotel is awful.... it didn't have cream for my coffee type deals.

If you can get a good deal on the Blake it would be a pretty good choice

My experience here was so awful, I don't even know where to start. No bell captains, no valets, a 10-minute walk to the very expensive parking garage, no room service, nowhere to buy a bottle of water or soda or a paper or aspirin. Bathrooms so dark you can barely see to take a shower. Bugs in the room and in the lobby. Restaurant/bar was dark and deserted and creepy (when it was open, which was rarely), with about 6 bottles of liquor to choose from. In my 2-day stay here, I only ever saw one employee in the entire hotel, which was one unfriendly and un-helpful person manning the front desk. And nothing is within walking distance, so you have to take a taxi for anything and everything. For the same money, there are several other hotels in the area that at least have some amenities!

Absolutely positively a great experience. Surrounded by some of the best customer service I've seen in hotels in a long time! Great accommodations, very clean, close to everything I needed. I'd book here again in a flash.

The room worked well for us and based on the price was a very nice value. The bathroom (while small) was clean and modern. Towels thick - room was a nice size, flat screen tv, nice desk and a comfortable bed. The alarm clock/ radio had an IPOD docking station - which was a nice touch. Staff was friendly and quick to respond. Basic conten breakfast.

Be advised it is $10 to park a night. Places to park across the street advise your car will be towed. It is almost $11 a day to get wifi access in your room, the business center also requires payment to get to the internet. Laptops have free wifi access in the lobby. I went to the business center to print broading passes but found out I would have to pay to get to the internet. I asked the desk how could I print broading passes without paying. The staff was helpful by taking us back deep into their offices and gave us access to one of their pcs and printers. Just be advised YOU WiLL HAVE TO ASK to for a free pc/printer.

Hotel was very nice and for the price it was a great deal.
