I don't know what happened to us but both my husband and I had mediocre meals at best last evening. You expect to pay high prices at a resort hotel. What you don't expect is a sub-par meal for those high prices. Neither of our dishes were complicated but neither were good, especially for the price. I had a pasta dish topped with a few pieces of grilled chicken that were overcooked and difficult to chew. The cream sauce was yummy but for $23.00 (ala carte), I sure expected better. My husband ordered the filet mignon. He asked for medium rare but got medium well to well done instead....even our waiter agreed it was cooked incorrectly. My husband relunctantly sent the steak back and the second filet was TOO rare. It looked raw, not pink. Plus, it took a good 20 minutes for another steak to arrive at our table and by that time, I had long finished my dinner. A quick apology from the manager with no compensation was all we got for a less than satisfactory meal. Even an offer of a free dessert or drink would have made up for the inconvenience a little bit. It was well within their power to do so but they opted to not make their mistake right....thus the negative review. On the positive side, our server, Derek, was attentive without too much fuss. And you cannot beat the patio setting facing the golf course just outside the bar. We wish the meal had measured up to the service and setting. If we sound picky, I would say at this price-point, we are. You expect much more when you pay much more. Would actually give this a 2 1/2 rating if it were available.
