We stayed at this hotel in September and had a great 8th floor room. This time we stayed on the 4th floor and it wasn't as nice. The ceiling was very dirty where the air ducts blew on them. There was only one chair at the eating counter in the suite. The bed and linens weren't as nice as those we had last time in the 8th floor room. The large air vents in the walls in the hallways had missing and damaged slats. The exercise bike was broken. Maintenance and room quality there seems to be spotty. It was OK, but nothing special.

I stayed at this Residence Inn at the end of September while visiting family in Charlotte. The staff were very friendly and pleasant. The suite and breakfast area were quite clean. There were some plumbing issues: leaky bathroom sink faucet and repair work over the shower head. It is decidedly a Residence! Lots of kids and families and pets clearly staying for extended periods. The lighting from the office building across the plaza is quite bright all night, so ask for a street side room (the street is dead-end and quiet). The plaza is where the smokers go last thing before bed, so smoke and conversation drifted up to the 4th floor after 11 PM. It is a good value because of the breakfast, the relatively reasonable rate, the location (for my needs) and free parking. It was nice to have the free computer/internet available in the breakfast area for travelers without laptops. It's not a bad place, but I will probably try out the other hotels in South Park.

I stayed at the Residence Inn at South Park, Charlotte, NC for 4 nights in December. This is a very nice hotel. They offer the complimentary breakfast and also drinks and snacks in the evening. There is no restaurant on site and the fitness center is very small, but over all the hotel is very nice.

There are several very nice restaurants within a 3 minute drive like: Ruth Chris's, The Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang, Dean & Deluca, Morton's etc. The South Park Mall is about a 3 minute drive also. The mall was upscale and very nice.

Charlotte seems to have a large number of gangs and gang violence, but there is none of that in the South Park area.

This is probably the nicest Residence Inn I've stayed in. The location is very good with shopping and restaurants in abundance. The room was very clean. The indoor pool was terrific. (They also have a basketball court outside, but we didn't get a chance to use it.) Really a great choice if you're going to be staying on the south side of Charlotte.
