“Small Facility Good Times”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

Small local bar with live music venues. Good burgers and decent bar food. Gets crowded when they have music there, so be prepared not a lot of seating. Decent place to go for something different.

“Local Charlotte Dive Bar...Dive Right In!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

Want to escape from the chains of franchise dining? Need a little retro cover music - live and upfront? Want a spot small enough but you can still squeeze in? You've just landed at Comet Grill! Leave your pretensions at the door as this cool spot offers burgers, boos and boogy encased in old style wood, eclectic decor and smoky atmosphere. Jeans, boots and short-horts all welcome. Bartenders will know you by name if you come here more than once! Relax and enjoy while you mix with Charlotte's finest - layers, bankers, and cowboys.

“Friendly, Neighborhood Bar/Best Burgers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2012

While staying at nearby Magnolia Green of the Home Collection, I happened upon the Comet Grill within walking distance. The Comet has a long list of various brews & cocktails. The burgers are meticulously created in what must be the best use of space in a small bar without a real kitchen. I had the Classic Comet which consisted of a delicious, juicy patty, the usual tomato, pickle, carmelized onions, & pimento cheese--simply delicious! I managed to eat every morsel of a downhome, oldschool burger. Nice place for anyone who craves a friendly beer & great food.

“good place for a sandwich GREAT place for Onion Rings”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 16, 2011

this is a small bar type place. Now that there is no smoking it is decent place to go and they have quite a good assortment of sandwiches. They make the french fries, onion rings and the chips in house and I have not tried the french fries but tghe onion rings are very good. The burgers are good but this is NC so they are never cooked Med. Rare but that is the law...but they are still worth the trip. It is very small and I am sure when they are busy it would be tight but would suggest it when looking for a good burger or sandwich and especially if you want the best onion rings.

“Great burger and bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2010

Wonderful little joint to drop in for a brew and a burger.

I would say one of the best burgers in town.

I prefer the fries not to have the spice salt added, but they are homecut fries and great.
